Someone said there that the FTSE has hardly moved in the last 20 years... That's wrong, its actually lower than it was 20 years at the turn of the millennium... it's pretty poor to be honest... and yet solid companies that deliver good profits are still on very low P/E ratios - many times lower than companies in other countries... Also, a lot of shares are well below NAV. Take for example Barclays - NAV is £2.57 and its trading at £1.47. Unbelieveable. Am I the only one who believes virtually every share is below its fair value in the UK. My portfolio is VOD, Aviva, Barclays, Natwest, Lloyds, Microfocus, BP, BT, AIB, Bank of Ireland, Marks and Spencer... I don't buy over-inflated US shares - far too risky and far too overvalued.

All well and good that Amanda Blanc is selling down their wares. What is the strategy for growth now? Seems to be pursuing a strategy for shrinking.....

Toff - I think you have stated a lot of contradictory points in there. If the £ went to $, that would put British assets at their lowest level possible - surely people would then buy into UK Plc. I've all my Euros (€300k) ready to convert to sterling near parity. No way a pound and euro are of equal value. Britain will do more than ok outside the EU! Thats coming from an Irish person!

JBThistle and Scamp - thanks for your messages. Best of luck. I honestly think RMG has a bright future - its had so many lucky breaks these last few months. I just had far too many RMG shares and I want to diversify more. I do think RMG will go to £4 +. One word of warning for everyone to keep at the back of your head - the Czech investor really helped RMG upwards - buying up 20% of holdings and he pushed out all of the shorts. Whilst that is very fortunate - at some stage it will be either a case of him buying up RMG or selling his shares. If he starts to dump, that will have a major impact on this stock. Always keep that at the back of your minds....!

Who cares what happens in the next weeks - exchange rate plunge will make UK assets much more attractive so possibly it will have a positive impact in the longer term. I've just bought £85k of UK FTSE 100 shares... I see UK being a good bet long term... everyone is so scared leaving a dictatorial trading block... UK can make it on its own, no doubt about that.

Bought £43k of Rolls Royce shares. I know they have risen quite a bit from lows, but overall I liked what I read in the recent update. Yes - its burning through cash - but I do think this company has a very good future.

Dark days that is.... hopefully loads of light ahead for you guys and you get whatever target you are holding for.

Sold my entire holding in RMG at £3.30 today - £80K in total. I'm glad it went back up for everyone and I wish everyone the best of luck in the future. Whilst I do think it probably will continue climbing, I've been tempted into Rolls Royce, BT and HSBC - so that's where I have spent the proceeds. Very best of luck to Redceo, Thistle, and everyone else on the Board - great group of individuals who got me through some darks. May this keep giving to you all!

Why would anyone be selling their Royal Mail shares. By all accounts this Christmas, parcel volumes could be up 100% or more. I feel sorry for posties having to work such long hours...

I do wonder why Royal Mail is down more than EasyJet - considering EasyJet is flying virtually no one; making massive losses and generally faces a bleak 2-3 years. Meanwhile RMG is down more this morning despite the fact that its probably the busiest company out there!

Surprised at so many shares trades of '1' share going through this morning...? Not something I pay any attention to, but I did notice that this morning.

I see An Post - the Irish Postal service has said its parcels have gone up 230% compared to last year - processing 3.2 million a week compared to 1 million last year per week. They are severe strain. Wonder how RMG is holding up. Surprised share price is not £5 at least. Wait for the update!

£2 for BARC easily in first half of next year. This is a particularly good bank as it makes money regardless of the economy and the circumstances it operates in.

Bullish trend still very evident. Royal Mail must be coming down in parcels and letters.

I'm buying every other day... easily this could get to £×0 again. Turnaround well underway.

Is Royal Mail the only share that I don't need to worry about at all...! I'm tempted to top up significantly because £3.31 is nothing for these.... should be double or treble that!

Bull market starting for sure. I stashed away 30000 Aviva shares - great dividend. Held on to my RMG shares even when they were £1.24... now £3.20 and climbing... stashed 100,000s of shares.... at their lowest. Don't miss out! Start of a great year next year.
