Trend is sub £3.50. HSBC just isn't the bank itused to be. Neo banks really are taking over. My partner transferred a six figure sum from HSBC to Starling - like night and day - Starling cheaper to keep a business account and so much better. Used to have £65k of HSBC shares - now zero. Wouldn't touch them now.

yes - agree that what they say they have in cash and actual position is sometimes very different. If they had 10 billion then why were they selling off champagne flutes and fine china to raise money... just saying!

sundeza - I hold no shares in any company at the moment. Seems BA's share price is back to where it was in 1989.... scary thought!!!

IMO RI is inevitable... IAG is bleeding loads of cash at the moment and its only going to get worse with furlough ending.

Smithys share price looks more realistic than most others.. . £5.00 definitely on the cards..

I was going to say that this looks like a complete car crash.... maybe a wrong analogy. Smithy so glad I got out of this - I had £220k in RR and Easyjet. The £1.2 billion sadly will not be enough IMO to bring Easyjet through this. IAG certainly will need to raise more capital too!

to think i had £105k in this three weeks ago. Woukd be worth £85k. heading south - no doubt about that.

Matt the brave. I certainly have £550k sitting in my nationwide savings account.... you are right - my hpuse is worth £200k. I have two other houses and a business in Ireland. I never lived a lavish lifestyle as I am from a farming background. I earned my money by buying good stocks at a low price and selling near to the top of the market. My biggest mistake was this share and Fastjet. Both terrible stocks. one gone - one on the way out. My other investments subsidised this donkey of a share. Long term I really think this is going under IMO

Smithy - your points are valid but rubbing people's faces in it when they are down on their holding is not nice.

Anyone listening to Opulentia should note one true thing he/she said - the share price is on its knees! Great time to lose more by buying more.... I ditched my entire portfolio of £550k shares which, if I held on to them, would be worth £500k. Microfocus is on its knees and sales have been in a cycle of decline - nagative growth - however anyone would like to put it. This has lots more to lose!!!

Doesnt make sense that you can sell shares abd still take part in a RI. Surely the whole purpose of a rights issue is to bolster finances and the share price..

I would really check out that strategy - selling at 7.01 and then buying back at a lower price later on.... sounds too good to be true!

Redceo - its an excellent company and a safe investment but investors have long shunned it... apart from Cevian looking for a quick buck and then exit

People need to listen to opposite voices and assess their merit without dismissing them as trolls. I've learned that over the years to my cost most of the time.

Sold my £65k holding weeks ago. I wasnt waiting for a special dividend as it would have cost me dearly in terms of dividend tax - pushed me firmly into 37.5% rate.... see nothing happening with this share of interest.
