Diredct quote: "Net debt increased by ?2.9 billion to ?36.2 billion (?33.4 billion as at 31 March 2023). This was primarily driven by the free cash outflow of ?2.0 billion and equity dividends of ?1.2 billion." I knew I read this. People dont understand how BAD these results are!!!!!!!!!
Fleccy - read the results - debt up two billion - paying the dividend was one of the two stated reasons. I cannot believe investors dont read these fundamnental things. I was invested in vod many times. Never made a loss - not disgruntled - but just really surprised how positive people are with such a poor set of results as this. Dont be surprised when its 50 pence or below. The dividend is not covered; the debt is not sustainable; the growth prospects are dire but we just see more of the same from Vod. this is a junk status company.
Borrowing to pay a dividend utterly irresponsible and the leading sign of poor management. Those debt levels are utterly horrendous and need reduced asap. I am not, and by the looks of it, will never be invested in Vod. Hopeless company!
I don't understand why this isn't down more. This year is an exception in terms of revenue and profitability. That debt is astronomical - not a chance they will get that down to a meaningful level. Strong sell
Not a lot going for airlines at the moment - we are still awaiting a downturn and the conflict in the Middle East and Ukraine will continue to put pressure on oil prices and inflation. If the war in the middle east spreads - well oil prices could be closer to 200 dollars a barrel - a lot of oil passes through the canal near Israel.... good luck holding this - not one for touching IMO.
Can see this going bust before being bought out... the share price movement suggests so.
Company adopting the entirely wrong strategy.... this will be bought out.
I've had significant investments in Easyjet before but the number of planes on order is colossal - its in the £10 billion plus.... I can't see much dividends coming back. I wouldnt touch this share now.
Shein and Temu will steamroller this conpany into the ground. I buy from Temu now. Can't see how boohoo can fend off so much competition. Dont see an offer coming for boohoo anytime soon.... strong sell
