Safety however whether it’s the driver, occupants or other road users is different. I firmly believe that judiciously raising mandatory safety standards is the only solution. Ncap and the EU are leading the charge and America will undoubtedly follow in its own good time.

Initial production WAS aimed at the EU in order to ensure sufficient supplies, whilst simultaneously running down existing stock to the rest of the world, turning stock into cash. Now that gen 2 is sold it will be simply a matter of selling gen 3 to everyone… hopefully in ever larger quantities.
