The long hello25 Feb 2020 21:07
It was another cold grey day in the big Grapefruit. I was sat in the office not doing much. I hadn't had a case to work since the infamous whoopee cusion affair had blown up in my face and left the DA and half the PD gunning for my PI licence.
A tall red head walked past the window. I knew she was tall because I'm on the first floor. Sure enough there came a knock at the door. I opened it and there she was. No hair, just a red head. She was dressed like a 50 cent hooker and had an unlit cigarette dangling from her lips. It suited her.
Hey handsome, she said. I checked but I was the only person in the office!
You got a light mac? No, I said. But I do have a dark grey overcoat.
I walked back in, pulled out a bottle of bourbon and two glasses. I knew it was going to be that kind of meeting. She followed and draped herself over my desk. She was sultry and sexy and even her squint said she'd do whatever it took.
I started to pour. I like three fingers she said. Doll, your not doing yourself any favours. She took a slug. Then she put it back again and took the glass.
She necked the bourbon. There's a problem at the office, she said. What is it? It's a building where Companies conduct business but that's not important now. It was time to get down to O'Malleys. With a broad like this you need to keep her tongue loose. And agile. And moist.
She wanted to take the lift but who carries a two ton lift down the stairs?
In O'Malleys she spilt the beans. I knocked over the Prosecco so it was honours even.
My husband has a chance to do insider trading. He has moles. They tell him things. I stayed quiet. When you deal with all the scum and degenerates in a city like this on a daily basis it didn't seem like something to get excited about to me.
She went on. There's this company. I was getting curious. What is it? It's a legal entity set up for the purposes of doing business but that's not important.
Bushveld Minerals. She was getting emotional. They mine Vanadium. They have the best stuff in the world! They are mining more and more of it every year. They use it to strengthen steel. But that's nothing. It's being used for these grid scale energy storage batteries that are revolutionary and going to be the biggest growth industry of the next decade! I wasn't convinced. So what? You don't understand! They have a division to make money from every aspect of these VRFB'S. The electrolyte, the planning, construction, rental products, the whole thing!
Listen here sweetheart. So your husband bends the rules a bit. So he gives himself an edge. Is that so terrible? If I stuck to the rules and didn't wander into illegality where would I be? Exactly. I'd have a good job still and be earning twice what I do!
You don't understand. He wants to invest in Tesla!!
