There's lots of gas in Tanzania more coming on line every day, It is the preffered fossil fuel for lower co2 emitting power generation.

So why use coal?

Kibo don't need to buy the gas/fuel at market prices they have coal- 120mt cheap to process and burn ,
which is where we are now - negotiating downwards our profit potential 67%IRR on the coal . $40 a tonne ? maybe £20

Coal prices @ $62 discounted to $40 per tonne = 8141kw at 40% efficiency = 3256kw = 1.23c per kw (Proposed ultra supercritical plant).
1.5million tonnes ofcoal = $60million = 4884Gw per annum

Gas prices @ $7-11, I've taken $4 per mmbtu = 293kw = 1.365c per kw 50% efficiency = 2.73c kw( gas cycle) x 4884Gw per annum = $133million

Anyone got any expanded financials ?

The article refers to the assistant commissioner who states discussions have been halted and that means still halted -and refers to the past TNBC meeting as the catalyst , then states a committee is working on a solution to build power projects without the government having to guarantee them . Sorry Tanesco is not EON . there's no way you would want to invest into a power plant in Tanzania and have a loss making power company as a guarantor of payments . Magaluf is in Cuckoo land if he thinks he'll get power plants financed and built without government guarantees.

KIBO shareholder value only enhanced by way of off loading into KAT and therefore eliminating any fundraising - dilution for it . . 5 ,10 years before any value could be created if it ever does.

I hope the BOD has more to say than this BB ! I had hoped for some kind of an update from them anything rather than nothing .. Are they in discussions for financing - construction - technical issues-power plant design .. I thought the Pak Gov had agreed a plant was to be built and there was a deadline to begin construction ?

That's $1.5million spent on haneti less the £200k worth of shares , we own 50% = we've just given away/wrote off around $600k to KAT shareholders and their share price reflects that they aren't over enthusiastic with the acquisition .

I wasn't invested for the Nickel or Gold . I have no idea how much has been spent on them and don't think they will come to be worth much either . . It was the £75k is a statement that KIBO will maintain controlling interest , therefore each subsequent share raise at KAT will require money from KIBO ,

Hi anyone got any views on Haneti ? So we still own over half of Katora with an extra £75k chucked in .!
