Yes agree on now to 16th uptick on orders ref div incentive, and 40p or so a pop is a nice windfall after a long 6 yr hiatus.

Not my tiggerish usual stance, but we should all be loins-a-girded for a small fall (B/sheet dilution day) at some point post dividend though.

I scour for these types of stocks on the cheap - post div.

In my book, and hugely simplistically for quick assessment, there are 'ride' days and 'tide' days for a stock.

Ride is stock being positively/negatively affected in magnitude by industry, sector, or co. specifics.

Tide is general mkt movt.... i.e. "most/all ships rising (or falling) on the tide"

Think today is the latter, but I really smell a ride day or two in the offing in next few weeks.

Look as I might, I can't see anything in my post Cev' where I'm suggesting excitement, or an orgy of fistbumps, is the order of the day on the morn'.

We might allow ourselves a tiny tinge of relief to some small consistent incremental gains, given last weeks vicissitudes though perhaps.

Dow and Nasdaq looking bullish after slight dip based on I suspect them ignoring NutLicks face saving nonsense. Keen to see how Japan will do.... they have a lot of ten year treasury bills in play, as have China of course (17% of t us debt) and they are jittery about the safety of this US debt 'm told. If it all holds up I'm hopeful of another 1-1.5% on top of today's modest gain.

Pleased with this today. Not a fan of govt running businesses in general but this is existential defence critical imho. Big investment needed to get the plants pointing in the profitable direction though. SMR sentiment/news plus tariff incremental dismounting (early doors @ T minus 87 days) and positive US and Asia futures quotes is tickety boo.

Apple etc being given exemptions - future in Asia and US likely to be strong. I'm cautiously optimistic for a good day Monday for FTSE and RR.

Agree if won, would be a magnitude more.

I don't have raw data but I suspect 4-10p would alone be actually less than the +/- statistical margin of error on the gain at say 700p.

Ultimately and very simplistically, cheaper steel and energy will make RR more competitive.

Unlike coal viability in 80s (whom's - politics aside - extraction could not be overtly modernised/made profitable in UK), steel can be viable as Australia has proven with Electric Furnaces supported by day to day running via Solar generation. We have massive windpower, if harnessed, to augment solar.

More Importantly than that though is alumni Cantabrigia sticking one (again) to Dirty Oxford on Sunday.
