My understanding is that the oversupply is 35m bopd whilst the Coronavirus shutdown continues. A reduction of 15m bopd is not enough to stabilise prices, let alone sustain an increase.

There will be spikes to trade / get burnt on though.

I think it is clear that production is being throttled to produce lower volumes of oil as they start to produce the CPR; if the figures can be manipulated downwards then the 'powers that be' will be able to take all the assets private from the administrators for a fraction of the actual value.

Many will have seen similar events on AIM where the BOD and other insiders somehow end up with the assets that private investors have funded. As they suppress the oil flow they will be busy planning the pipeline to take tens of thousands of barrels of oil an hour to be refined (it is not called the Gatwick Gusher for nothing!). The only problem with the plan is that suppressing the oil flow may damage the integrity of the well but that may be the plan to force a co-mingling of the various layers of oil, which will help the bulk extraction and piping to be refined.

Unfortunately you are ignoring the original infected person(s); if R0 = 3 then 10 rounds of infection leads to 1 048 576 infected people. This presumes that the 3 people the infected person(s) comes into contact has no immunity already; as there has been little testing outside of hospital settings the percentage of the population with COVID-2019 antibodies cannot be calculated yet.

I mentioned Abcam earlier - they are AIM listed and raised £110 million issuing circa 5% of the company this afternoon at the prevailing share price. Few AIM companies can raise funds like that.

The only pharma company that interests me is Abcam, but it seems overvalued at the moment. In a gold rush it is best to sell spades and tents, which is effectively what Abcam sell in the pharma development business.

It seems that some are smoking the crack in the ground left by the Gatwick Gusher (2p next week; 5p next month]
