I listen to the TWiV podcasts [This Week in Virology]. In the latest podcasts they discuss / dismiss Fenofibrate at 2h30min into the podcast. The main bloke behind the podcast (Vincent Racaniello) is highly respected, certainly more than a journalist for the Spectator.

If only it was that easy... Covid-19 does not need fat to reproduce.

More ACE2 is produced in the fat cells of obese people than thinner people. The Covid-2019 virus particle uses a spike protein to bind with the ACE2 protein on the surface of a human cell in order to hijack it to produce copies of itself. Having less of the ACE2 protein on the surface of human cells will reduce the potential infection points and the cholesterol-lowering drug Fenofibrate achieves this.

I presume that lowering the number of infection points lowers the number of copies of the virus which allows the immune system more time to react to the infection without going into overdrive and causing a cytokine storm.

Deconstruct the statement - he wants cheap nickel that does not tarnish his brand / can improve his brand as his batteries will not use cobalt mined by kids in a war zone but will not stump up the cash himself. Of course other battery tech may not be suitable for vehicles so ramping up lithium and nickel may lead to oversupply and therefore cheap prices for the car industry - no wonder he is not investing himself [SpaceX is currently doing a fund raise at $40b and Tesla is worth a few £s, so he is not short of investable wealth if he thought it was worthwhile].

What an astute observation. That will explain why UKOG have had to issue stock at a discount and use convertible loan financing. It would be a crying shame if investors needed to pay higher prices to prevent them being diluted as there is no point penalising long term shareholders with an increasing share price - SS fully deserves his bonuses by engineering a situation that allows LTHs to prevent dilution at these lower prices.

I would be in no hurry to start an argument in Louisville today - lots of angry folk with guns and some twitchy police does not make for a happy family day out in the park.

I agree commodities are undervalued but bear in mind that the $ is overvalued so the increase in $ prices might be tempered by a decline in the relative value of the $. Still expecting them to pay my bills for the rest of the year though...

The furlough scheme will end soon but so many of the jobs are gone forever that we, even as a 'rich nation' are facing many winters of discontent. Road kill and home-grown vegetables are going to be on the menu for many and camping will become popular [amongst the homeless].

The Government has spent years running down the judiciary - rampant rule breaking will be hard to crackdown. Home security will become a growth industry and I will find it easier to sell my Rhodesian Ridge-back puppies.
