During the 2-week period the day with the most shares traded was the earliest day? Not clear to me.

During June the daily volume exceeded 1 billion shares on 7 occasions. Volume has not exceeded 1 billion share on a single day in July or August. The highest number of shares traded on a single day in August was 767 million shares on the 4th; last week the total volume was less than 700 million shares.

The daily trading volume does not seem to be growing day by day?

Expecting UKOG ro reach a m/cap of £12 billion may be a little optimistic.

Bloomberg was reporting the gas find on Wednesday and there was little reaction from professional investors; retail investors may buy and spike themselves this week though.

The Gov have wanted to separate Openreach from BT for some time as there has been pressure from other broadband providers who claim anti-competitive behaviour; the Gov also want to pin the blame on BT / Openreach for their (the CONservatives) failure to invest in rural broadband.

BT are a sitting duck for an asset stripper if they were to get the nod from the Gov; a CONservative friendly business could take over BT, separate Openreach and then sell off the 2 parts. BT as a company like Sky or Virgin would get most of the bid money back; Openreach could be loaded with debt and then structured as a Utility and sold / listed with guaranteed returns.

The Gov would sell the transaction as showing that the post Brexit UK is 'open for business' and get Consumers to pay for the cost of the 'required' rural infrastructure. The fact that 5G (6G is already in development) is cheaper and faster to deploy will be ignored.

Probably worth closer to £3 a share but it is a political decision; might be worth a few quid for a few weeks if Monday's rise is less than 40%. If public opinion is against a takeover it will not happen as Boris seems to be trying to rule as a me-to populist.

They negotiate a profit percentage on what they invest so have the perverse incentive to spend more than the optimal amount as they will make larger returns - the larger the guaranteed return the easier it is to sell the income stream to a pension company and start the same game again.

Turkey has an accommodating approach to onshore exploration and production as they spend in the region of $30 billion a year importing energy. If the find is as large as they are claiming then Turkey becomes largely self-sufficient.

Some consider Erdogan to be authoritarian populist; with energy independence he can change the onshore exploration and production regime towards a more popular greener approach to pander to the electorate. This would not necessarily be good for UKOG's prospects.

In a recession, especially when deflation might become an issue, invest in a money lender and encourage your enemies to borrow [provided that you live in a region where they have strong courts]. Whilst ARW may not be a money lender they are buying debt at distressed prices an have years of experience in the industry.

I have taken a chunk in anticipation of the interims - the downside seems less than the upside for a trade and there may be appeal to hold longer if there is positive guidance on resuming paying dividends.

That is the Americans, Chinese and Russians dealt with; hopefully a new Government will mend bridges with our European friends in due course and the sins of colonialism will be forgiven.
