I heard / read comments about variolation early in the virus outbreak but this article is the first I have seen in the NYT. Basically, if you are going to get exposed try and get as little exposure as possible and hope that your immune system learns to react in the future from dealing with the low levels of the virus has come across.

Many would like to see the end of the unpredictable presidency but the handover is only at noon on the 20th of January (20th amendment to the Constitution). Unfortunately that leaves a lot of time for malevolent actions as he will find it hard to accept being a 1 term president if he is voted out of office - he does refer to anyone who suffers such a fate as a 'loser'; being fired by the electorate would be quite an insult for him to swallow.

Thanks - the best way to back British Farmers would be to reform inheritance tax exemption on farming land. The exemption perversely encourages the wealthy to buy farm land to pass on wealth rather than actually farm. The concept of 'hope value' in [farming] land should not exist (the country, not the owner should benefit from reclassification) either as it discourages efficient use of land assets.

Many politicians wearing corn on their jackets in Parliament today - does anybody know why / what is being symbolised?

'No disease progression observed on imaging in 7/8 patients.' - that is not the same as ''7/8 patients that Didn’t show any disease progression'. Imaging has been omitted.

There are many other signs of disease progression. Other questions could be when were the images taken, how regularly were they taken, are the images of just the prostate tumours, what happened with secondary tumours etc.

Some people have been making ridiculous statements along the line of this might be a cure for cancer. It may be a promising compound but more data from a wider sample of patients will be required.

PMQs should be fun today - If Boris cannot perform and score some points against Starmer his shelf life will lose some time.

People seem to be making up stuff to meet their hopes and dreams. A healthy dose of scepticism may be needed when reading the overly optimistic posts at the moment.

I think there is too much blind optimism built into the price at the moment but a 90% drop seems a bit severe.

Anpario's interims out; eps up 34%, interim dividend up 10%.

P/E hovering around 20-1; seems to be factoring more growth from China than might happen?

Solid results unfortunately backed up with a high P/E ratio which factors in significant growth. It will be interesting to see how the market reacts over the next few days.
