Directors of companies like this should be paid a percentage of their remuneration in shares. And there should be a ratcheting clause - the more the share price drops the greater the proportion of shares instead of cash; the share price is down so far at least 75% of their wages should be in shares, and they should be locked into those shares for a minimum period of 3 years or more.
