Surely rates are high because of delays in ports - normally high rates would be because of booming international trade; now trade is just taking longer to happen because of delays loading / offloading in ports, so demand is being artificially boosted.

Suggesting the use of existing baseload [nuclear] power to create hydrogen ignores the inefficiency and would make the product prohibitively expensive.

A far more efficient solution is vast solar farms in the Sahara, where generated power is used to create ammonia [which is more than twice as calorifically dense as a liquid hydrogen and does not require high pressure / cold temperatures]. Macron is preparing for an election...
