It does matter... Getting herd immunity into the youth before winter / Xmas is important, so having high levels circulating amongst the unvaccinated young may turn into a benefit to wider society.
It is what GOV are banking on, especially as mandatory vaccinations for school kids would just encourage popular dissent. Evidence is showing that those who were previously infected and then get vaccinated are mounting a "super defence" against all Coronaviruses, so getting exposed whilst young may not be such a bad thing if the infection is not severe.
