"Peru will target the “excess profits” that mining companies have earned from rising metal prices around the world, Economy and Finance Minister Oscar Graham told Reuters in an interview late Friday.

The world’s second-largest copper supplier will focus on surplus profits, potentially through an “adjustment” to taxes, Graham said, as the metal trades at near record levels of around $10,000 per ton following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Putin can print as many roubles as he wants, just like our Chancellor has been playing the QE game. He wants to force his energy buyers to buy roubles to pay their bills so there is support for the collapsed currency. And at the moment when Germany pays him Euros for energy it goes into a bank account that Russia is blocked from spending from because of sanctions.

Basically he is selling energy and the funds are going into an account the West has eyes on to pay for the rebuilding of Ukraine. No wonder he wants to change the rules of the game.

No - Putin wants us to get on our knees and worship him and his energy. Ukraine has the largest unexploited gas field in Europe and he plans on annexing it. As long as he is energy rich and has nuclear bombs he can do as he pleases if we keep buying the energy from him.
