We have a slowing economy, negative savings, falling house prices and stubborn inflation which will be fuelled by the NI cut and rises in minimum wages. And now, increasing amounts of distressed property debt just as 150k people have to remortgage onto higher rates every month. Property is going to get kicked this year... And people who do not need to move are going to feel poorer and reign in spending, which will add to the stagnating economy.

The latest Next China email from Bloomberg states: "Even the GDP figure is a subject for debate, given longstanding suspicions about the accuracy of those numbers. The research provider Rhodium Group thinks growth last year was likely around 1.5%."

I am not the only one suspicious; I think 1.5% is too high though.

I would add that when US interest rates fall, some of that money will make its way to emerging markets / markets that act like one such as ours. Those undervalued blue chips could be in for a run...
