RE: The fall in the FLX sp - it hurts8 Jun 2019 10:04
Sorry - O/T - but there is a link to FLX in this post -
Regarding my post of last Monday - information for anyone who clicked on the link in that post - I have lowered the price to £4.99p - down from £8.99p.
When I uploaded my book on to Amazon and had to set a price for it, I saw that there are many books priced at £2.99p, £1.99p and even some at 99p.
After three years of hard work with lots of research and lots of original ideas, I couldn't bring myself to make it so cheap. I felt that it was worth more, but I now see that I had let my heart rule my head and the price was too high. If I want it to sell, then the decision on what price to set must be a commercial one and not an emotional one, and so I have lowered the price to £4.99p.
It was a struggle and very hard work. George Orwell once said that writing a novel is like having a horrible, long-lasting illness - much like owning shares in Falanx.
"Faraday missed it, Maxwell missed it, Einstein missed it. An unknown force is about to become the greatest threat to global security. The hunt is on - but finding the unknown seems impossible.
There are strange events at a Hampshire golf club, In the Atlantic, a Royal Navy missile test goes unexpectedly wrong. There are anomalies in the Bank of England's gold vault. A huge crash causes the abandonment of a Formula One race meeting, the weights recorded at a boxing match weigh-in are disputed and wild rumours are spreading on the social media pages of weight-loss groups.
Nigel Bretby is the only person to realise that there is a connection between these apparently unrelated events, but the explanation is too incredible to be believed, because, incredibly, the mysterious connection is also linked to a sudden shift in the orbit of the International Space Station and worldwide GPS problems.
With hardly a clue to be seen, he needs every ounce of his ingenuity as he tracks down the secret that lies behind this mystery, and when he makes the shocking discovery that this, ultimately, presents a threat to the global order, the urgency makes him take drastic action.
In the course of his investigation, he meets Myriam, a young woman with an ambition to become an investigative reporter and expose major scandals and wrongdoing.
Nigel is careful not to reveal his real aims, but Myriam's intuition tells her that there is a big story in what he is doing, and before he knows it, Nigel finds that he has a partner, as well as a girlfriend. Myriam makes valuable discoveries that unearth further clues, and with their two brains working in tandem, they come up with some inspired and visionary deductions to move the investigation on, and, eventually, track down the mystery device and the people behind it.
When a mysterious stranger turns up with a story that Myriam finds suspicious, their investigation becomes more complicated in ways that cause Nigel to be worried about Myriam's safety - worries that turn out to be justified.
