A crazy world - or is it just me?5 Jul 2019 10:27
Will FLX make a tiny profit, a good profit or a huge profit?
Does making a profit matter to the SP?
I have just been listening to the Today Programme on Radio Four and a topic that was discussed was "What is the secret of Amazon's success?"
Some woman talked of what a huge advantage it was that they didn't make a profit.
It was like that in the dot com boom days - profits didn't matter. What mattered was cash burn, the faster a company burned it, the more its sp went up.
Why doesn't that work for FLX?
I obviously don't understand the world I will never have the astute thinking, wisdom indeed, of FK1. The world is too mysterious for me.
For example, in Britain, we are told to turn our thermostats down to nineteen degrees, what's that in Fahrenheit, about sixty-seven degrees? The government tells us to fit triple glazing and loft insulation. We mustn't let any heat escape from our houses because it is so bad for the planet, and yet, you can buy a patio heater and heat the air outside. People with large patios have four heaters – one on each corner.
I can't help thinking that there is something odd about that, and wondering "How can that be?" I hope that isn't a silly question like why doesn't superglue stick to the inside of the tube.
I need to be able to retreat into the world of obscure thinking like this. It protects me from the consequences of what I might do if I were to dwell on my huge loss on FLX.
