As I said, I only make forecasts when I can see a known pattern and right now I can't see one on the THX chart, so talking about a drop of 5p or more is not a forecast, just a suspicion, but a reasonable one.

Here is what I base it on.

See the 6M price chart and look at the recent drop. It is a flight of stairs and they are going down.

This rise is feeble. See how one sale dropped the Bid.

I had looked at the chart before I looked at today's trades. There seems to be some interest with some reasonably sized buys.

Any comment that isn't ecstatically positive has to be countered in double quick time. A sure sign of a professional ramper.

I use the price chart to make forecasts. The current THX chart is a mystery to me. I don't see any pattern that I know of, perhaps there is a pattern that I haven't studied. I don't claim to be an expert, I know about only five or six patterns and they have served me very well and helped to spot major moves.

I said that just to make it clear that this is NOT a forecast.

The latest downward slope makes me think this might drop by 5p or more.

An announcement could make a big difference, so basically, this is a huge gamble.

When I saw the fall coming and sold a few (even getting rid of some at the very peak which was fortunate) I said that I was prepared to gamble because if SRB didn't drop back, I had my eyes on another stock. That was FRES.

I spent some of the proceeds on topping up my holding in FRES and then some on buying back a few SRB shares at 150p. Yesterday FRES announced a rise in the dividend PLUS a special dividend and the share price has shot up and has further to go.

I haven't been on here for a few days because I didn't want to brag about FRES (it had been going up even before yesterday, it had been at a bargain price) but since I was coming on to say this about the chart, I decided to mention it.

A brief look at the chart suggests to me that a new upleg will start soon and 180p by mid-March is still on the cards (but since it hit178p, I claim that as close enough to 180p to make it a correct forecast).

If you want to see ramping at its worst, see the THX board. Now it has spread to here.

While other gold stocks are rocketing THX goes down.

I admit that I own THX, so I have been disappointed at it falling when others are rising, but Pedro has posted on the THX board and he thinks it is over-sold, so that has given me a bit of confidence.

I attack the THX board for the ramping but then I say that I am in THX, so what's my point? Well, I am in and am regretting it because having cash tied up there is missing opportunities elsewhere.

I see THX as much more risky than SRB. Just look at some of things going on in Africa regarding miners.

Pedro - obviously a genuine person and not a ramper, he doesn't post endlessly every day and even after midnight and on Sundays - that is what I call ramping.

The sp drops when nearly all other PM stocks are up.

I've waited a long time for this. I've been in FRES since the last time they paid a special dividend, trading along the way trying to avoid the dips, but never out altogether. I think the last time they paid a special dividend the share price was £24.

That's the difference between the US and Canada and the London market. In London, mining is hated. I've seen mining stocks on the AIM and on the TSX and the TSX price is always a good bit higher than the AIM price.

Fifteen quid seems fair enough to me Sharpey, but remember what Max Keiser said - "The price of a stock, I learned when I was a stockbroker in New York many years ago, half of the price of a stock is determined by the overall market direction, another quarter of the valuation is determined by the sector that that particular company is in, then only twenty-five per cent of a stock's direction is determined by the individual stock itself."

As for "another quarter of the valuation is determined by the sector" - for many years fund managers have shied away from gold and silver stocks, but I reckon that the tide is turning and it is a sector that they will switch to.

Correction - "My ACA shares fell from well over 400p to 125p" should have been "My ACA shares fell from well over 500p to 125p".

And by the way, my purchase of 20,000 shares at about 16:15 hasn't yet appeared on the Trades screen so don't call me a deramper.

Well Schmidt1 - ACA supported social projects and was a role model. The company allowed local people to use its clinic that they had provided for their workers - they gave medical aid in a region where the government provided none at all. When their region of Tanzania was hit by drought they imported 400 tonnes of food and distributed it to the local people. They did much more than that, but it didn't stop the Tanz gov't from attacking the company. My ACA shares fell from well over 400p to 125p.
