The maiden dividend was announced on 8th April. They will pay dividends quarterly so could the next dividend be announced in early July?

That's not far away. Since the company is swimming in cash, is there a chance of a rise in the dividend?

Perhaps not, it a bit too soon, but if the gold price holds up I think the next announcement, presumably in October, could bring the good news of an increase.

Do the results come out first on the LSE or the TSX? If London gets the news first, then perhaps we will see a bigger rise when the TSX opens.

The gold price has just hit $3,395.

Whoops, I forgot, that makes no difference when it comes to the AAU share price. Gold could go to $4,000 and AAU will still be well under 1.5p.

It turned out to be a bit of luck that my limit order didn't go through. It looks like I'll have a better buying opportunity soon.

Buying seems to pretty strong. I tried to buy a fairly large chunk today and couldn't get a live quote so I had to place a limit order. I was offered 168 to sell, 171 to buy. I set a limit of 171.1p.

The price immediately jumped to 173p to buy.

Shares never move in a straight line. Look at the SRB price chart on here, the trend is up but there are dips and some are quite sharp.

Foggthemogg smugly tells us "I told you so", but we all knew that today is xd day. That wasn't the question.

On 11th April, he posted - "even worse they're telling everyone they need to be holding ON THE record date to be eligible. You've missed the divi then".

It wasn't people on here who were "telling" anyone anything about holding on the Record Date, it was the company.

This is copied and pasted from the Results - "payable on 30 May 2025 to shareholders on the register as at 22 April 2025". There you re - the company said it.

The people on here were merely asking for clarification and foggy scolded them for asking.

That's not all we have to worry about.

The British government has just stolen a Chinese company and are slandering the Chinese by accusing them of sabotaging the company. (Net Zero made it impossible to make a profit. Months ago, the owners said that the site was losing £700,000 a day and they intended to close it. That's not sabotage. All energy intensive industries are struggling due to the Net Zero madness, the pottery industry for example. Look at how many jobs have been lost there in recent months.)

If the British government keeps on attacking the Chinese like that, the expect retaliation.

I don't like this.

THX didn't muck around with a claim of assessing anything, they pulled the trigger and announced a quarterly dividend and said that if the gold price keeps going up, then the dividend will go up. Simples!

Why didn't SRB do the same?

Correction - my limit order has just gone through. Someone did want them.

Another when my other PM stocks are up, and doing very well, but GFM is down.

I tried to sell some but couldn't. No one wants them.

I didn't "mistakenly believe" anything. I'm not selling so I'm not trying to catch some relevant date and if I were trying to get out just before the drop, I would take the ex-div date as being the one that matters.

My post was merely debate. I told of what I had noticed in the hope that someone could explain it and we get a definitive answer about ex-div date versus "on the register" date.

Admittedly Strike123 doesn't have the answer, but he was having his say which is what what chat boards are for.

fogthemogg, you don't know the answer so stop accusing other people who post chat as part of this debate of muddying waters.

Fogthemogg - it isn't people waffling about record dates on these boards that is confusing people.

I started buying shares in 1988 and for most of that time the company would simply tell us what the ex-dividend date was, and it was just as you say, "must be holding at close the day before it goes ex-dividend".

However, a few years ago I noticed a change. Now they say the dividend is payable, "to shareholders on the register on [some date]". I've seen results that state the ex-div date and also a "shareholders on the register" date. There's the confusion.

Something has changed.

The FRES results say " to shareholders on the register on 22 April 2025".

With gold at $3,173, any bets on tomorrow's rise in SRB? 5p? 10p? More?
