I have read a lot of rubbish on here, but this takes the biscuit! It takes a long time to develop ground breaking treatments, and to date they have been doing this with very little working capital. Surely you cannot be so naive as to think that it can happen in the blink of an eye?

It does make sense, but it is not guaranteed... I think with such a small company, it would be very unlikely for them not to approve because I cannot foresee them not having discussed before the second placing. But you never know, they have some influential iis who may put a spanner in the works

The shares For the second placing have been purchased by the retail investors (ie us) but if the board decides not to admit them then the transaction will be cancelled and monies returned. They have therefore not been admitted yet. Once they are approved (assuming they will be), they will then be admitted and the number of shares in cireculstion will increase.

The first placing shares are the original £40 m worth that the board had originally approved. When the primary bid was oversubscribed Avacta decided to have a second placing of £8m. Because this hadn’t been approved by the board, it requires a general meeting before they can be admitted. This is the reason for the delay between the first placing (that was admitted this week) and the second placing that will be admitted assuming the board agree retrospectively to the second placing.

Or the antibody tests are only 60-70% accurate.... I agree though, a very small percentage of the population appear to have had CV from the ONS data that has been released to date. Incidentally, I know only 4 people who may have had it and only one of them was tested and that came back negative despite them returning from A ski trip in Italy and having classic symptoms.

Thanks Cautious Optimist. I’m sure that this share price will ballon on news. It will be a very interesting webinar on 17/16 - I’m really looking forward to it. However; I’m much more excited about the phase 1 pro cancer treatments- although it is a longer play, it is very satisfying to be part of a company who have the capability to revolutionise cancer treatments.

Does anyone know how much advance notice (if any) MM get for RNS?

Has anyone thought to look to track the ‘smoke signals’ that the MMs use to (somehow legitimately) communicate plays in the market? I was thinking about trying to analyse the data to spot trends, but I’m struggling with finding a decent dataset to start with. I have seen too many instances of what appear to be leaks over the past few weeks, and it is always at the expense of the PI.

It would certainly gain attention if a group of investors were to bring some kind of class action against MMs for Insider trading!

I have had very similar feedback from close friends - one is a GP And her husband a consultant. They are now at a point where they have absolutely no confidence in the test results being given as people who they were certain had had COvid have tested negative on the Roche antibody test and many many cases with the POC tests where the symptoms shout out Covid, but are coming back negative. A worry for me is that all over the world, people are having these tests with a 30% false negative rate and then going on about their new, non lockdown day happy in the knowledge that they are feeling poorly, but not Covid.

Do you think the BAMS test will be taken up by hospitals given they already have the machinery on site to run the tests?

It definitely more stressful being out of this stock than in it, hence my both physical and metaphorical lack of balls... and until today it has hedged very well with the rest of my portfolio.

Just looked to dummy sell my 100,000 shares and was offered and immediate £1.33... normally it says can’t fulfil order this large, so clearly lots of willing buyers. I wish I had the balls to sell out this morning and buy back in, but if I had then most likely the 1pm RNS would have arrived!

That is correct, because the second share placing of £8m hadn’t been previously approved. I would be surprised if it didn’t go through however.

Don’t forget that the share placing price was based on a 30 day average. If they had waited until tomorrow then it may have been at £1.10. The SP of £1.15 on 5th May to yesterday possibly gave them the best placing price given the downward trajectory. Makes me question slightly the increase yesterday afternoon...
