Is it not only in relation to leveraged positions? Anyone who has a leveraged position has to move to cash backed or close out before a certain date. I’m not at all familiar with this type of trading, but given anyone with a significant IG account who was exposed to the companies kn the list (of which Nova is one) will have been contacted by their account manager to alert them to the change and to take early action. This might explain the downward pressure in share price of Nova recently. I need to do some more research on this to try to properly understand, but apparently IG is the latest in a line of platforms that is moving to this policy to manage risk.

Bruker have been included in the 22bn framework agreement with UK gov fir covid testing, so I wouldn’t say that this news was insignificant

You need to read the words in the RNS very carefully. They are evaluating how the assay works on the Bruker machine specifically. The information yielded from these tests is far greater than a line on a LFD. Perhaps they can identify the variant, the level of infection etc. Not the update we all wanted, but not shambolic!

My friend is a GP and her surgery have requested to postpone delivery (it is an optional service for GPs to offer). Apparently the over 80’s are the most notoriously difficult group to make contact with, especially over Christmas period...

I think this might be THE most stupid thing I have ever read. Perhaps they should make all of the people who test positive through PCR also flip a coin after too to see if they actually do have covid... because that is how useful the Innova LFT is. I’m lost for words... having just tested positive after my daughter was exposed at school, I’m fairly certain that covid does exist and that the PCR test is accurate. What it can’t tell us is whether either of us are still contagious (I’m guessing I am because I feel quite sick, but who knows about my daughter as she is asymptomatic). Another thing I can tell you for sure is that with a fast accurate test available, I wouldn’t have been exposed as we would have known that my daughter was infectious. We also would actually be able to certain that we are no longer infectious once we have completed our isolation. We cannot take another PCR test as it will show us to be positive still due to amplification of the particles of virus that are no longer able to replicate. I bought even more Avacta yesterday evening. Call it blind faith, or the ability to read and be patient, but I have every faith that this test will be delivered and will make a difference and will stop others from having to be exposed to what is actually a pretty nasty virus.

No idea covmutley- sharebel seems to think there is some hidden agenda going on with the board here! My point was simply that the BOD job is to take the best decision for the benefit of the BRH shareholders l, which to date is exactly what they have done!

Why would that be so sharebel? If it was the right decision to can the test, rather than sink more money in then why would the share price tank? They have made £402k profit in £895k revenue this year. That has nothing to do with the masks, or the covid test. It is simply the other underlying investments. They have money in the bank to invest further, as they see fit, in the remaining investments in their books. It is the boards job to invest in the companies who have the greatest potential for return for the investors. The decision to pay a special dividend by the board is exactly in line with what they set out to do in their ‘mission statement’ - I cannot see a reason why you would see this for anything other than what it actually is!

In particular, the fact that 22% of the US won't be able to be vaccinated as they are 'children'... as BBN puts it - that is a lot of grandchildren.... aside from the issues with approving, manufacturing and delivering any of the vaccines announced right now the major issue is falling short of any kind of herd immunity by a long shot.
