MattyBoy, don't be disheartened. I've been through a few of these scenarios. I never want to be a long term investor, it's just not for me. I've tracked companies who have gone through similar to what's happening now with GGP (none of them UK) and they've done fine in the end.

I wanted a quick profit from GGP - didn't turn out that way.

What you're witnessing today on this forum is initial reaction, the offer price being rather low and what not - it's hard for some to comprehend but that is the price whereby the deal could be done. If not there would have been no deal and more than likely GGP would be pulverised and starved and swept up lock stock and barrel for pennies.

Lots of "new" negative posters have popped up over the last couple of days - and with reason!

It's my belief that we will relatively quickly see a reverse stock split and then proceed with the ASX. Plenty of Aussie institutions will want this stock. It's candle in the wind stuff to come up with a figure. Probably not what you want to hear but in my opinion it will take a while to get anywhere our ATH's. Set yourself a new, reasonable target. The big Aussie investors will be in for the long run, regardless of SP ; divis is their focus. It depends on your timeframe mate.

I'm also harbouring thought of a major jumping in once all the dust has settled - who knows?

1. SP drops - opportune time for me to average down. It will rise gradually and when it reaches my renewed target I will sell everything.

2. SP shoots up, traders will be all over it like a bottle of pop. But once they take their spoils the SP will drop - opportune time for me to average down and wait for the gradual rise. Then as per 1.

Either way, with a close eye on things, this is a win for me.

I'm confident the SP will rise nicely over time for those who like long-term but it's not for me.

I prefer quick gains.

When I first invested in GGP I was looking for an upturn on the fall - can't be right all the time!

I don't think it goes that far Ben. It's my understanding the suspension will be lifted once GGP has provided enough information to the market to address the reasons that led to the suspension - Cannacord's touting as far as I am aware. To the best of my knowledge, when a suspension occurs FCA become involved, but not in a governing way. I think it is GGP who make the decision to lift following discussion with an agent from FCA to confirm regulatory requirements have been met.

Yes Freddie, I agree, fundamentally, obviously current holders want a result and potential purchasers want to explore every avenue before taking the leap.

TomE, Golden rule apparently - never water, or for that matter beer. Milk is the recommendation. Was introduced to Lassi a long time ago, can be a bit sweet but has the cooling effect. Different flavours of course - but Mango is my favourite.
