LegendB,
This used to be a great board!
It's worth noting there have been very many first or second time posters on here that due to responses they have received, have never posted again.
I believe not only new but also old members are reluctant to ask questions, give opinion or raise valid concern because it’s becoming increasingly difficult to have a constructive discussion on this board when genuine questions or concerns about GGP are met with dismissive replies rather than informed conversation. All too often, posters who offer no insight into the company, no data, and no reasoning feel the need to belittle anyone who raises a point that doesn’t fit their preferred narrative.
There’s a clear difference between healthy debate — which posters on this board should encourage — and what we’re seeing more frequently: users who contribute nothing of substance yet try to shut down discussion through ridicule or gatekeeping, or for that matter, raise posts that are totally unconnected to GGP. That kind of behaviour doesn’t strengthen the board; it weakens it.
I'd like to say most of us are here because we’re invested, interested, or simply trying to understand the evolving situation around GGP - but it's quite clear, to me at least, most who are posting currently - 24/7 are just filling their day!
When responses are emotional rather than informative, it derails threads and discourages people from sharing legitimate viewpoints or asking fair questions.
Disagreement is absolutely fine, but disagreement should come with reasoning, not personal digs. A strong community is built on constructive engagement, shared knowledge, and respect — not on belittling those who dare to raise a concern or give legitimate opinion.
If this board is going to remain useful for investors and followers of GGP, then elevating the quality of discussion should matter to all of us.
HOPEFULLY - those who seek to ruin this board can be dealt with by us, in either providing objectively driven valid data rebuttal or by simply ignoring.
