I don't rember the "unpleasant surprise" bit Banbury, you were mucking around with descriptive details, you were given a little back without any such details, possibly was a direct quote as you put it but you have sometimes exaggerated.
That phrase, to me, is like an echo of another phrase going way back but all I could find on the Internet was reference to Peter from "South Park" and his mates and the 1992 film "Peter and his friends".
I neve looked up "mbele" references on this site beyond reading at the time so don't know much in that but if Helpful was referring close enough to anthing already on here, that might just be banter, also I remember he said, that in a debate a politician acknowledged his "philipsophical lingusics" which suggests to me Helful might know a little bit on the structure of language, theories of how meaning is established via grammar and conversational use of words and the substitutions I words for other words - perhaps without distorting the original meaning - though there could be flexibility there.
I'm widening the above out to say Helful might have had some education in philosophy and / or linguistics and people outside that education might also have relevant ability because we all use grammar, we all structure our language as we speak, type to have some understandable meaning, sometimes it us informal. I 'm not strong on the deeper aspects, have just discussed, neither is the battery...
