Increased US govt spending and fighting inflation are perhaps pulling in opposite directions?

Friday saw the SP go from 1.12p to 1.4p before the sell at the end. So 0.28p max.
It was difficult at times to buy on Friday, presumably if the same continues,only need a couple more 0.28 days and 2p possible by the end of next week? New tax year as well.
It must put off the day traders if it is difficult to make immediate trades ?

MBL has now converted all the Convertible Bonds it has purchased to date under the program, and hold no shares converted from the Facility

I know it's not hugely reliable but I make it 7 recorded as sells out of 246 transactions

That must bode well for the SP if no one selling.

The response I have seen to today's announcement is that it didn't come with any dates and it perhaps wasn't that green.
As someone who owned itm when it was 5 pound odd, wish current holders all the best. After watching an episode of Harry's farm and the move to hydrogen by JCB, staggering to see the share price as it is, I thought this was a no brainer. Gla

This seems to me to be a buy currently. With it creeping up in price the best possible price might have gone for a bit unless another bank fails.
For all the comments that say the share has gone nowhere, that seems a bit of a lazy way of looking at things. It feels to me that it's really a case of waiting for drops in price, buy at the right time and by doing so creating SP growth. Historically no real point in buying
perhaps at 260p if you want sp growth.Plus the huge % dividend on top when the share price is low.
Out of the 3, LG, phoenix or Aviva, which do you think represents the best value at the moment ? Phoenix didnt progress price wise on Friday but the other two did, which seemed a bit odd with the ex dividend date not far away?

I wonder if he wants people to respond, at best the posts are lazy.

It feels that the price on most days is the normal price but the sale price is much more attractive, perhaps a bit like the price today

This may be simplistic but the headlines are about a loss yet the dividend was increased.
Those two don't seem to ideally fit together, what am I missing ? So different to direct line.

This might seem a bit odd but how do you go about buying Aviva shares ?
I look on Aviva as pretty solid, world events come and go, Truss budget, winter storms etc, dividend was as stated quite a long way out.
If you bought at today's price, the dividend yield would be x but at some points in the year the share price was 3xx and the div yield would be far higher.
Although it ties up some cash, do you set a market limit and for example, wait for it to hit your chosen figure of 399p for example and then use your platform to auto buy it for you.
It is buying a dip of sorts and you might end up being greedy (why not set multiple figures, even try a crazy price) but why pay full price if sometime in the year it's on sale?

It almost feels as though buying it at the current price is almost an impatience thing rather than the best possible way to buy.

Anyone know what has gone wrong ?

That data set seems to be suggesting (ignoring the special as I guess that mucks things up) that on average you are marginally better off selling and rebuying (5 out of 8 occasions) than waiting and keeping the dividend ?
All be it with the small effort to do so and 0.5% tax might come into play where the difference is small.
I guess this is a v small sample size and can't be sure what else might have been happening on those dates.
April 2019 seems a bit unusual in that the share price recovered so quickly back to previous levels it was almost as though the dividend had never happened.
To complicate matters it seems sometimes the lowest price isn't the dividend cut off date but can extend to days after. 2021 better off waiting till the day after, 2022 the lowest was the cut off date.

So overall......it's not a clear pattern, there is no definite repeating winning approach.....should we toss a coin ??

Could I ask, is there daily historical share price data available anywhere ? so that for say Aviva, LGen etc, we could work out share price was x on dividend day,dividend day +1 it was y, dividend was z, perhaps even week before and after to guide price direction, totally accepting the share price will move as it wants to on the day,there is that variable element to it.
Would you be able to work out on average if you had enough data, if the fall is less than, more than or equal to the dividend ?

Never a great amount but remember the 3 and 4p days where it seemed to be ready for lift off and at times the SP increasing daily. I gave up after a while when the SP seemed to be going steadily in one direction.

Im sure this has been asked before so my apologies. Why is the information on buys/sells so ropey ? It looks today that everything was recorded as a buy and then everything as a sell ? I know the latter isn't true as one was a small but by me.
To the complete amateur, myself, the data doesn't seem that complicated, it's either a sell or a buy ? Presumably the source data must be correct but what is being fed isn't ?
