Apparently on top of today's 3.30p dividend. I can't see it myself. If we were to receive a takeover bid, then you may see a big special dividend being offered by management to defend the bid.

Don't shoot the messenger but a poster on ADVFN says that he's heard that ITV intend to pay a special dividend.

ADSR's currently up 1.02% @$10.37 UK equivalent 79.5p. I'm not sure but I don't think that they're trading ex dividend yet in the USA, it maybe after close today.

Contrarian, yes I will be voting. I think that all CEO's care to be fair, their jobs are on the line. As I've said previously, I think that large institutions hold all the cards regarding voting, they surly can't be happy at the current bombed out share price. I do think that Liberty Global will take out ITV at some point, there is a reason why they have held on for 8 years come July.

Contrarian, I would have to agree with you, the only way the ITV share price will recover above 100p is if there is a rethink regarding ITVX. It will take a change of board to do this I feel. An actavist investor, or vote against our CEO at the AGM by large instatutional investors who own almost 80% of ITV is the only way of stopping this. Otherwise we maybe in for a verry long wait to see the results of ITVX.

I feel that the BOD have been badly advised regarding ITVX. Management will now throw everything at making this work to save their legacy, potentually at shareholders expence.

While I do think that ITVX could work, I would rather not take that gamble. If a vote against the BOD will stop it, I intend voting against. If ITVX is scrapped I would expect the share price to go back the the day before the announcement at 110p per share. The presentation of the ITVX was a shambles to be honest. On a day that ITV announced record annual results the share price dropped 27.5%. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Anyone would have thought that ITV had reported a massive loss with a rights issue. Probably a nuclear bomb wouldn't have caused such a drop in the share price.

IMO, No one knows what the share price will do. Charts are right until they are wrong. A chart is the history of the price, not the future. News changes the chart, yet the chart never saw it coming. A company could receive a takeover bid tomorrow, the chart will move accordingly after the news. People do act on what the chart says, or what they perceive the chart says. Some they win some they lose. If charts work for you, good luck to you.

I don't buy your 76p ITV average price, you purchased ITV on the day of the results at about 92p, you then said that you had added to your holding when the share price was about 76p, and then again at 82p (£100k at 82p) if memory serves me correctly. All the post's are there in black and white Tom if I was to look back. So no your average price is a higher price than 76p. More porkies.

IMO, ITV run the risk of cannibalising it's linear channels mainly ITV1. New content will appear on ITVX before linear channels. What's in ITVX favour is there will be a free version and also a subscription (no adverts) version. Not forgetting that no tv licence will be required for ITVX.

Come the end of this year, with the cost of living shooting up, energy prices expected to rise even further in October, people will make big cutbacks. I currently have Netflix, but I intend cancelling and switching for the free version of ITVX. How many more people will switch for the free ITVX version?

Hi Alex, yes unfortunately I'm still here mate. I feel if it wasn't for the ITVX disaster of a presentation ITV share price would have been north of 120p. The record financial results would have moved this share price. Markets don't like the ITVX plans, it wasn't presented with enough details IMO. Market hates uncertainty, hence the drop in the ITV share price.

I take all comments on discussion boards with a large pinch of salt, I'm sure that you're the same, but you do come accross the odd posters that stand out from the rest. I would advise reading Matthewr1 comments on ADVFN, he was a professional trader and his knowlege is second to none. Matthew recently said regarding a takeover that Blackrock wouldn't accept anything below 150p per share currently. I would have to agree large institutions like Blackrock don't lose money they make it. With large instiytutions holding almost 80% of ITV, they hold all the cards.

In my opinion ITV are cheap as chips, but that's not to say that the share price won't fall further, no one knows. I see far less downside than upside.

Alex, I can confirm that TomLondon (who was banned by the way) is in fact BournemoughTom. He's blighted this forum for years with his expertise. He advised us all to sell ITV at the start of the year, and to buy MKS, Tom claimed to have purchased £100,000 worth at 260p and set his sell order at 299p. Needless to say Tom is still waiting on his MKS sell order. Current MKS share price 149p. He should come with a financial health warning. Whatever Tom predicts, do the complete opposite.

Tom, because I'm a honest person I will vouch for your above comment. But let's be honest about it Tom, you were advising ITV shareholders to switch in to a share that you claimed to be a shareholder in, some would call this ramping. Also, your advice fell on deaf ears when the ITV share price was on it's knees at the hight of the pandemic, so not many would have taken you up on your advice when the ITV share price stood at 50p, it could have been jumping out of the pan, in to the fire. The best advice would have been to buy ITV at 50p and sell at 134p, this would have made a far better investment than a doubling in the Shell share price.

While it turned out that your advice would have worked out well on this occasion regarding Shell. It could also be claimed Tom that you could have picked out almost any share at the hight of the pandemic and would have made money.

While I have given you some credit, you also have made some howlers Tom. You advised us all at the start of the year to switch in to retail shares, right at the very top of the market. You tipped Sainsbury's & Marks & Spencer. You claimed to have purchased Sainsbury's before they announced their results, claiming that you had bought blind, doing no research. On the day of their result the share price dived, you then said that you hadn't purchased shares in Sainsbury's after all.

You claimed to already own M&S at 250p per share, held them for years, yet there was no history of your comments on M&S discussion board. You then also claimed to have purchased a further £100,000 worth at 260p per share and placing a 299p sell order.

Other discussion board members should be warned that you're not the expert that you claim to be Tom, and should come with a public wealth warning. I have my doubts that you even own any shares in any company. You fit the discription of a troll who's blighted this ITV discusion board for years when you owned no shares. You have a unhealthy obsession with Carolyn McCall who it would seem you blame your your previous share losses.

You said over a week ago in our last conversation that you intended to take a backseat from posting and advised that I also should. Well I did just that Tom, shame that your word means nothing. This used to be a very good informative board before you blighted it, many good genuine posters have stopped posting here, ask yourself why this is Tom? I'll give you one guess.
