I too couldn't get a quote - from Barclays stockbrokers - when 1.80p buy price showing.. but took a small amount more at 1.85 p instead..

fi5jcm, I play LOTS in the AIM shares in some sort of distress space.. and if management were to need to do a raise in due course here, there's no way the discount would REMOTELY near 90%, I'd expect.. (closer to 25% discount on whatever s/p then than 90% I'd offer)

There are size players stuck in here, including a couple ish of II players who would participate in a raise at a meaningful but not outrageous discount readily ahead of letting this go under.. not least as AIM is a lot about doing raises and this company hasn't done one in years.... (no raise here since 2018, maybe ? ..at a glance back on RNS history ... but happy to stand corrected on that)

PS; this on a scheme of the distressed AIM shares I often play in is still in ok shape right now.. there are so many levels of dog on AIM more lowly than HMI in its current state, I promise you..

I'd be pretty surprised if this goes under 1.5p..... and meaningfully surprised if it goes under 1.25p..

(look at the market cap on such s/p's ...and then look at the assets here, especially including longevity.. )

As this company is a main market play with a very large PI following, most of who have sadly been smashed to pieces, so far at least... I'd be very surprised if the FCA is not keeping a very close eye on Mr Del Millholland nowadays .. and he is fully aware of this too ...and so is super cautious in his actions and words around now.... especially always erring on the side of saying less instead of more.. including using RNS's without interviews alongside/standalone... So I'm guessing next updates will be in timeframes line with previous recent updates..

Generally, the terms around the bonds here are utterly appalling for shareholders.. and that's on Del and Rodney ...and it's a very hard journey out of such a deep hole.. although the assets here and JV on the horizon give good hope.

...not possible to calculate in advance is perhaps what he was getting at ?.... as lower the overall volumes sold the higher the average per unit costs.. (with fixed costs etc) .. also the selling price may have to be brought down to assist sales volumes ..etc..

I've added small again into this mornings fall and will add incrementally small into any further weakness to 1.5p.. if it goes that low, it may not of course......under 1.5 p I'd add bigger size again to get my average down under 2p.. and stop then and take deep breath / hope hard for the best..

Generally, I'd guess this company is still a long way from going under.. not to mind raise card not even played yet, it could still trade around b/e this year, hopefully .... and pick up a bit next year, hopefully... so the raise card may not even have to be played, hopefully.... - and if it were played, there'd still be the possibility of an emergency raise or two after that too, I'd guess

A more consuming thought in my mind is that there might be a decent chance of the company being sold on the very cheap in 2024..... if next year is looking like it will play out worse than this year for eg .... but that would be a few million sale value still, I'd guess .. and the Market Cap is already under 5m now and would be decently less again at 1.5 p ..etc..

Agreed small caps game is - utterly even - dominated by traders.. I started off buy and hold but to survive/win I've had to move more and more to trading - long only still, so far - as CEO's of many many small caps are great fantasy island story tellers but awful at delivering nett profitability.... eg the significant first challenge here is to get this company back to a going concern.

Bondholders have previously sold at a lot lower than the current s/p....you'd hope they'd hold off selling any more now as GGS go live could be a game changer here .. but there was a Bond holder selling occurrence this week, still.. so they can do any such thing at any time is the best view here imho..

Hopefully this retrace doesn't see this go back under 3p.. but if Del Millholland says nothing for the remainder of August it will be a big challenge for this to hold onto 3's.. I'll guess, and sadly... so I, like other traders here too, might be open to selling a few more again in the hope of buying them back in the 2.5 p to 2.75 p ish range....

I absolutely do feel for the long term holders here.. but there is clear hope going forward now, at least.. and the JV in the wings should seriously curb serious PI selling at under 3p, I'd guess... and encourage more buying too.. but the bond holders remain the elephant in the room.. and cast a dark shadow indeed, sadly...

6 weeks ISH more wait is nothing here on the scheme of things.. and into those weeks some sort of in anticipation rally might even start too, hopefully

(Parking existing holders - some of which might easily add more here too as we go, of course - for a moment; if I were new to xtr it would appeal strongly to me on a fundamentals basis at anything even vaguely around the current s/p. Bushranger valued at zero leaves plenty of room for upside and none for downside -as I believe he's now said no more drilling against the current overall dynamic for it.. that overall dynamic could change over time granted.. but it shouldn't be open to minus valuation whatever anymore now imho - and Manica at under 2p is a very un stretching valuation imho.. and news due on both end ish September too .. which should be whatever flavour of good on Manica .. and if even some morsel of news goodness on bushranger model then zero current value can of course be added somewhat too by the market too)

B McMaster holds approx 4% of the shares here, which gives me some solace.

Also the accountant in him looks for the company to live within its own means eg strives to maintain a decent cash buffer to avoid raises and have a little in reserve to get through tough times like we're experiencing now.

On the flip side, that same accountant in him is aware of accounting tricks towards working smoke and mirrors across the financials here .... but, generally, open to minorish liberty taking more than outright fraudulence, I'd guess.

AIM shares are often hard core gambling and this fits that mould well now.. A year ago I'd have guessed it would be a cut above that, but not now.

I'm a hard core gambler and so see appeal in this share.... especially in the 1's pence..

Everybody talks ‘their book’ .. it’s human nature .. and I don’t have a problem with any of it .. but I’d offer that the Uber bulls are - unfortunately as small cap oilers game is so anti shareholder value - the most dangerous to wealth, by far .. as so many stocks go down so often / much in this game .. and I’d pick Shaa out here as a text book eg of such Uber bull

In the spirit of time to move on from Matd, Mr Mike Buck might consider applying for the 'Servant' role advertised by new refinery below. His many years of practice as a servant to Mongolian bureaucracy should see him fully qualified to get this advertised job !

I think Mr WOS has good content..... and his repetition has its merits too.. and he generally makes a good Bull case here, in fairness..
