$7bn in lost earnings settled out of court in April 2019. Qualcomm issued an extra $2 per share earnings. Their market cap pre settlement was around 63bn and the share price rose around 50% as a result of the earnings but also future revenue and resultant investor upgrades.

Clearly with Nanoco the damages may be much smaller but the impact I would expect to be more significant than a 50% rise given the mcap of Nanoco is around 1000 times less than Qualcomm's was at the time. Qualcomm's mcap is now $156bn.

If we get a settlement of $200m and a licence agreement with recurring revenue I would be very surprised if Nanoco doesn't become a $1bn/£1bn company if not more in short order.

I think this is as much to do with STM and Apple.

I'm expecting some news on Sensing this year. As Tenner said, what the revenue will be is currently opaque as the end user and application is not known but it shouldn't take too long to figure out. As for damages I estimate $280m lost royalties for 1/3 global market. If the award is reflective of the wider market and also includes future royalties then the damages award settlement could be quite significant.

It’s possibly related to a reasonable chance the EU ROHS exceptions may come to an end soon. There was a post and a link to an article on ADVFN yesterday.

Definitely room for improvement on the marketing and messaging. They need to prioritise emphasis on the virus killing characteristics of the mask and the copper component. It's not hard, just needs properly thought through and I expect that will happen sooner than later.

Who outside of the #RMS community believes we have a Covid killing mask? Next to no one. It will take time to communicate the message, to have that message heard, for people to start to check the validity of the products claims. Assuming all of this happens, and the products virus killing capability receives the right endorsement, there will be a take up in sales. Somewhere along this process others will start to invest.

We are all invested here for different reasons with different expectations and timescales. I for one would love to see a quick spike and a profit but I don't expect it, or I certainly don't now, to happen soon. But in a few weeks that might change.

No matter what the majority of society do, or what governments policies are in relation to mask wearing, there will still be a demand and personally I'll be ordering these masks for my family to wear when appropriate.

There's not a single news story about these development that I can find. Good. If there were and the price was where it's at I'd have more concerns.

It's early days here, but a lot can change once the marketing picks up and the press start to run with it. Before that can happen they have to sort out the manufacturing and supply side . Only then can distribution really sell in volumes and with capacity to re-supply being critical otherwise momentum will be lost. The marketing piece will fall in line.

In the meantime I hope and expect further price consolidation before a steading rise over the next few months.

LTH it's not a 'sale' and the small numbers are the outcome of the closing SETS auction and it happens everyday with the trade published usually at 16:35. It's a UT trade describes as "At the closing of the auction the bids/offers are frozen and an attempt is made to match as many shares to be sold against shares to be bought - the result of this is what is known as the 'Uncrossing Trade' (UT)" It's not manipulation, nor is it a sell as such. Don't sweat it.

Look on the London Stock Exchange site and view all the trades today. None at 2p. Investing.com seems to have it wrong for some reason.

There is not a single reported trade less than 2.30p today. If there is transactions at 2.00p I can't see them unless they are subject to delayed reporting.

Some platforms are as usual reporting different prices. Investing.com is stuck on 2p but google finance 2.4, LSE 2.4, Market screener (delayed) showing 2.45p. It looks like an error or something fishy to me.

The "addressable market" for Horticulture and IR Sensing are larger than those for display according to a previous presentation given in Jan 2019 (Needham growth) In that presentation, Nanoco were guiding that sensing would materialise (pardon the pun) in 2020 but of course, we know that fell away with the large US partner pulling the plug.

With STM potentially reinserting the plug we might expect some news this year on IR sensing. Apple car is a few years off yet until launch but there will be some leaks during the development. Apple/STM may have other sensing applications related to phones etc.

Horticultural applications were guided to be worth $8.5bn in 2022 which is more than the addressable market estimates for display referenced at $7.5bn.

Biomedical addressable market estimate for 2022 was $1bn. Who knows what opportunities/threats Covid - 19 brings to that but key is Nanoco were guiding this as an opportunity in 2022.

And then there's the court case against Samsung.

If it all were to 'materialise' Nanoco could be a great 'acorn' investment, but there's a road still to travel. We know not how long or how windy or how bumpy that road is, or if it even leads anywhere yet, but at least it's a road. How many roads must a man walk down................

You’ve got a mc of £50m as currently you’re running out of oil. It doesn’t move around you need to drill new holes but no guarantee the same won’t happen again. Unless that situation materially improves this company is on a cliff edge. Who knew water could come crashing in.......
