If BT was open to a settlement he could instruct his lawyers to negotiate and have the power/authority to do so in his absence. I guess Sammy was absent that day in law school. I think it’s called power of attorney or something.

I see the voices of reason are appearing in force. I forget sometimes this is a team game where it’s better to post popular views rather than critical ones so we can all get hyped up and lose objectivity. Do forgive me. I’ll try and be more biased in future.

Troublesome are you suggesting that a team of lawyers are as intimately knowledgeable as our CEO on such matters? Conversant yes, but able to answer everything in his absence?

What happens if the lawyers need some technical or commercial advice that the CEO possesses but he’s asleep at home in bed because he was in the office 9-5 micro managing the “organic business” on the assumption his management team are incompetent to do so without him? Does he not holiday?

You are effectively suggesting rather than sitting through his own divorce hearing, he leaves it to his lawyers and goes shopping in Tesco then asks at the end of the day, “so what happened in court in relation to that thing I’m involved in?”

You are fixated on a settlement, always have been. I’d love one. But to suggest the CEO instrumental in decisions relating to filing suits in Texas and other jurisdictions doesn’t want to see for himself the case in person for future reference and instead concluding he’s waiting in a motel for a call to sign a settlement is just plane crazy.

It’s important he’s there. Let’s just agree on that.

You think the CEO doesn't want to be at the trial and instead sit at home for an update after the daily court session ends? His interest will be piqued as high as you can imagine and he'll want to understand every nuance of the Samsung arguments so he better understand the legal advise he's given.

Yes whilst he's there an opportunity to discuss a settlement may present itself but come on....

I understand the reaction to BT being there, but really should we expect anything else from the CEO for what is the most impactful event potentially in the companies history to date? If he wasn’t there I’d be worried.

Was reported after hours but it was transacted during normal hours for accuracy.

Apple AR delays are software related it’s worth noting. Yes that could impact commercial order volumes and timings but I don’t believe the issues are hardware.

My view is BT said they expected visibility in previous communications but back pedalled in subsequent communications, quite rightly pointing out we’d been here before and would only report firm orders when received.

These are dynamic situations affected by human factors and the algorithms are adjusted accordingly before being left to run.

I adequately understand the concept of Algorithmic Trading and it’s use here in context , but a simple recognition that there is actually human involvement and not “no influence at all” would have sufficed.
