Answer for Observer942-Gangfeng20 May 2019 20:43
In answer to your post on KDNC which I have just seen, these are my thoughts:
1) From the FT article, it does NOT appear that the 22.5% Gangfeng investment in the SONORA project will involve Cadence. However, from BCN*s latest Presentation it appears that one part of the 20 yr mine life does involve the KDNC/BCN JV. This, I am not sure and you have to check.
2)Gangfeng deal with Bacanora today appears somewhat the same as the one with Lithium Americas - from 37.5% to 50% participation.
3)From the Lithium Americas example, it does not appear Gangfeng wants to take over the co at this stage prior to production.
4)Peter Seckers said Gangfeng want to be in Sonora. I was a bit puzzled initially but in the IG Interview, Seckers said the lithium is bound for Japan and China or Asia?
5)Peter Seckers said Sonora has a mine life of 250 yrs!!! From the Bacanora Presentation, it is 20 yrs for their own plot and 50 yrs for the JV. So, this mine life of 250 years is CRITICAL both in terms of cash flow etc.
6)David Lenigas has said that the legal agreement has been done in such a way, Cadence can sell their 30% JV to whom ever they like. Need to ask the old-timers more about this.
7)From Mr Lenigas tweet today which I posted it appears that there is value in the 30% JV.
CLICK open the tweet to see the CALCULATION and see if YOU AGREE the figures. I was waiting for you to check as it is always bettter to have PEER REVIEW. Other investors also welcomed to calculate.
So, if 22.5% = £7.5m, then how much will 30% be potentially valued at. This has already been brought up by David Lenigas, former Chairman & Founder of REM and later named Cadence.
8)Nemaska has still not got funding yet. So the Bacanora funding from Gangfeng came as a surprise. However, Reuters did say that a Chinese co was interested. It would be more logical for them to do a deal with Nemaska but maybe the recent events....
9)From the IG Interview, it would appear that Mr Seckers seems to be saying that in general finance is now tied up. However, please check as its quite difficult to listen in.
10) Dr Ryan D. Long, Mining Director of Edison posted that the deal has implications for Cadence [see my post below today].
So, therefore, this topic brought up by our Founder [D. Lenigas] and Dr Long is befitting to discuss and open to others to do some cals etc.
