Appears to me as if Putin is preparing to move on Kyiv in one last attempt to take Ukraine before winter sets in. Taking-out all power and water facilities in Kyiv .... doing 'joint' operations to 'protect' Belarus, that just happens to be shortest route to Kyiv. Lukashenko, lapdog for Putin is probably having his hand forced .... not looking too good atm. Innocent men, woman and children caught-up in this absolute nightmare, all the making of a single madman ..... There needs to be a coup.

Also, did you see video footage of NS1/2 pipes blown-up. To my untrained eye, metal has buckled in not out as you would expect from an explosion and no visible damage either inside the pipe ....

Yep, Ithaca IPO will look to raise >$1bn with their strategy committed to "buying value accretive assets across the asset lifecycle ". With current net cash of >$1bn, profit for H1 $1.6bn and expected net production of ~80kboepd for H2, like Serica they will be cash rich, unlike SQZ, will for sure go on a spending spree or return substantial cash to SH.

Problem is SQZ, still not into oversold atm so yet to draw real attention to itself. At 255p you would see major buying interest imo and wouldn't hang around that low for long .... As of 2pm on 13th all JPM's screens would have been screaming 'close that f'ing short, now' .... been one-way traffic since with SP up >25% since Thursdays low. Buybacks will add to buying pressure and all those institutions, SF et al that shorted the 'ell out of DT know there is no more blood in this stone, so switch tack, close out and will now go long too adding their weight to buying pressure also.

Just ran figures to compare 2021 vs 2022 (to-date) average NBP DA price :

2021 : 114p/therm
2022 : 198p/therm

So we are only running at an annual increase of 74% YoY yet my bills are substantially above +74% !!!

Are KIST preparing ground to issue a special dividend / capital return of ~50p/s ?

Meanwhile in SQZ camp we keep accumulating $cash$ with no idea what to do with it, so it appears ! Should we actually complete an acquisition it needs to be well received by the market, one that, ideally is instant accretive. Uneasy hanging our hat on NE drill even if we can cover vast majority of costs against levy.

Now ~25% off recent high of 6 weeks ago and still wishing we have an offer from someone, anyone to re-ignite interest in SQZ once more.

What the 'ell .... NBP DA sunk to lowest for months .... from 163p/therm today to 90p/therm now. Last seen July 21 and not far off long term average. Headwinds need to change direct and fast and there had better not be any issues with NE drill either.... !!!

Yes, you are correct, they can not off-set WFT, just 'normal' tax which will leave less overall WFT to pay on remaining profit, that's the way I read it, otherwise taxed twice on same amount.

Agree, a bigger player WILL acquire us, just a matter of when .. they will want to off-set tax with acquisition of us and with ~£520m in cash no debt to acquire either, slam-dunk I'm afraid.

Probably not ! .... but don't really know. The NS O&G have their own unique tax system, Petroleum Revenue Tax, Ring Fence Corporation Tax, Supplementary Charge and of course recent Levy too . Atm we pay 30% corporation tax where as the rest of 'normal' business pay currently 19%, due to rise to 25%.

Looking like NBP has settled in the 150-180p/therm range for time being ... probably why our SP is under added pressure, plebs thinking that price is soooo poor as we were in the +400p/therm only a matter of weeks ago.... needless to say, even at 150-200p it's still > 3x average NBP and SQZ continues to add cash, currently estimated to be >£520m (~55% of MCap) with zero debt.
