HBR have the right idea for sure thanks to Linda, diversify away from UK as much as possible ..... 2028 is a long, long way off for this punitive tax to be reversed, if it ever will. My guess it will either be extended or re-named by whoever is in gov then, hopefully the Monster Raving Loony Party as they would probably do a better job in looking after national interest and UK jobs too.

Remember, as a backdrop to this is everyone wants energy prices to fall ..... major wind / solar projects etc will only be profitable if subsidised or consumer unit prices increase .... neither will be particularly acceptable for whoever is in charge. ATM a ready and waiting infrastructure and billions of investment in NS O&G is waiting to go, if only this punitive tax was removed / reduced.

BP will unveil their 2nd quarter results in a few weeks on Tuesday 1 August ..... showing still massive profits from WORLDWIDE production ... watch press and JSO jump up and down with Labour too, banging on how unjust the system is that these O&G produce massive profits and pay dirty dividends too ..... Nowhere will it state that almost all of BP's profits would of been generated from outside of UK jurisdiction, the same jurisdictions the UK gov are now forcing UK to import from, along with other, probably less ESG focused too.

Guess Berenberg now have a short on, targeting the gap.

Looks as if they have a target price at which these 'tranches' will be taken. If the same 'mates' want these latest tranches, my guess is they will not want to pay on or above their average for last job lot, which was circa ~6.5p/s.

AA could well have his eye on other 'bargain' assets, for which he may want to do one more deal, then package and sell off KISTOS, done it before has he not.

TMC1 is a self-proclaimed shorter and its posts always reflect that position, just don't engage or reply on its subject thread.

As for today's news, really great adds value via reserves once again and can set AA up to sell off KISTOS. After watching his recent interview I got the impression his excitement of O&G industry has be drained out of him with these punitive taxes. He will be looking to sell off KIST asap imo for more than today's market price for sure.

One thing is for sure, it appears Serica are going to add to our NS asset base soon. How big a deal, we he did say needs to be accretive ..... hope it's not using the same metrics as Mitch's TW deal. (lol)

Still, my outside hope it's another BKR style deal with BP.

Got the feeling Steve was not happy playing 'second fiddle'.

His response to M&A was interesting when pushed, mentioning West Africa in what was supposed to be I guess a throw-a-way comment ... not sure it was imo. Also he stated that SQZ will not enter on a 'piecemeal basis' but establish a 'beachhead' and then my read-across he also stated how important knowing how the country in terms of logistics, relationships and geology etc works.

From my POV and probably yours to Sasa, one country comes to mind. Steve did also, I feel, try to throw the foxes off the trail too with it being 'not right now' !! Also mentioned looking at 'strategically distressed' company wanting to move focus, he confirmed, 'We have looked outside NW Europe'.
