HBR are a strong company, that Linda is guiding through difficult times. Here's one for you to come back with me on next year, in 12 months our SP will be >320p imo, although I guess, by then, you and your 'mates' will be long gone from this BB as your boss no longer requires your services.

Kokomo, morning, yes futures have been all over the place recently, particularly intra-day with this 'strike', however NBP DA which is all we are really interested as it's what we mostly get paid in has been pretty stable recently in and around 80p/therm, currently 85.944p/therm. atb

Mad Monkey, be good to have some real stat's on who and how many shares these institutions have 'dumped', lets say over the last 12 months, excluding EIG for which which we already know, who and why they transferred not dumped shares.

Well, one thing is for certain, its not going to impact on our production.

I've been watching trading patterns on both SQZ and HBR for some time and for me significant effort has been applied to both in order to suppress their respective SP, particularly since March ! HBR recent massive share swap imo, is someone getting their house in order, for what purpose, one can only guess.

Efficiency synergies are obvious inc other points made in previous post but what's not so clear is the intentions of both EIG and Mercuria who are key in all and everything that either HBR or SQZ decide. As you know PE like to see their money work hard and don't take time wasters lightly, turnaround and exiting for multiples using financial leverage is name of the game for PE, usually in a relatively short time frame whilst extracting as much cash (dividend) as possible. Merger could also offer an exit route for NGHL should they so wish.

HBR have made it clear they are looking for "Meaningful M&A..", for me SQZ is one such option. SQZ on the other hand went through what could only be referred to as a bizarre time middle of last year with takeover approach and counter approach with KIST, upshot being SQZ getting into bed with Mercuria via Tailwind some months later !!! Still not sure as to why SQZ rejected out of hand what was a very reasonable offer by Andrew Austin's Kistos. At the time of the Tailwind deal, SQZ CEO Mitch Flegg implied SQZ would quickly go on to bigger and better things .... shareholders are still waiting !

One think is for sure, consolidation in the industry will continue, just a small case of us PI's trying to pick the ripest cherries.

I've just posted over on HBR my thoughts on a merger between HBR and SQZ ;

Recently, on 1st Aug we received news of a new licence being awarded, apparently 'out of the blue' for Loukos Onshore:

Yet 5 months earlier Julian, Pierre and Duncan became directors of LOUKOS ENERGY MOROCCO LIMITED, so not quite as 'out of the blue' as we have been led to believe. I'm sure there are many other 'ongoing activities' that we plebs are not privy too, particularly given our BoD wealth and depth of experience, although Askar, Covalis Capital et al, I guess maybe are ! Make of that what you will !

Yep, garden was best place to be yesterday rather than watching lackluster performance of our SP... ;-)

My concerns are twofold. Firstly the longer 'our' gas remains underground the more chance it will stay there, why I hear you all ask. For me all about environmental headwinds, these grow stronger day by day not only impacting FID but also RBL if required as we all know banks are turning away from hydrocarbon investment en-mass, it's all about ROI for all concerned.

The other point is ONHYM, how long are they prepared to wait for Chariot to get this project off the ground and into production. It appears 'presently' that CHAR have the backing of ONHYM (recent licence issued) but could easily change for numerous reasons, after all, this is Africa !

If CHAR have a deal on the table find a way to make it work for all asap .... remember when doing a deal all parties want to think they have a great deal, not just one. Compromise is the only game in town atm, otherwise we could well see ourselves frozen out for good.

Been holding CHAR for farrrrr to long, she has been my temptress for many years, about time she repaid us all.

PS Off out into garden, time to prune the wife's bush by hand, not with one of those hand-held battery powered devices but old fashioned shears, may also need the lopper's as its not been touched my me for many a year.... wish me luck !!!

JSE could be an easy target with half decent production set to grow significantly 2024 and 2P's circa ~70mmboe, OK >$100m in debt but route to net cash +ve in 2024. SQZ could do worse than run the slide-rule over JSE, possibly acquire them for ~£300m !

At least it moves us away from UK Tax grabbing idiots in power & whoever they may be in future years.
