Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
If you didn't attend the webinar for PANR you should watch when it becomes available. There is one slide in particular that lays out Theta West - which is Pantheons largest play - you'll see clearly in the slide that a good 5-10% of the horizontal area runs under 88 acreage.
Hi Wagandter,
Quite a long way, I'd say too far away to have any inter dependency.
In my opinion, more important is the fact that one or more of the reservoirs Pantheon are testing with the Talitha well likely flow into our acreage, meaning that there could be value accretion for 88 on success.
Have a look at the below at slides 2 (for a scale of distance between merlin and Talitha) and 16 (for a view on how Talitha could impact us) in the below.

Of course it's a massive blow - I agree. My point is it's not a binary play on the Kuparuk.
If the share price halves I'll be taking more as they have great economics on Alkaid and additional zones to test.
As a reminder here's what they say about the basin floor fan:
(a) The Upper Basin Floor Fan
Talitha #A penetrated approximately 125 ft of high quality, oil bearing reservoir section in the upper portion of the Basin Floor Fan some 500 ft up dip from the analogous PS#1 well. Preliminary analysis indicates this section has the potential to be significant if testing is successful.
(b) The Lower Basin Floor Fan
The lower Basin Floor Fan sequence exceeded pre-drill expectations, with higher net to gross than at the PS#1 well with similar reservoir characteristics. The lower sequence is over 1,000 ft thick with interbedded, oil bearing reservoir sands and shales. This zone as mapped on seismic data extends over more than 80,000 acres on Pantheon acreage and hence, if successful, its potential is extremely large, extending updip into the Company's Theta West project. There are now two wellbore penetrations through this oil-bearing sequence in distal locations. The Company plans to test a zone in this large Lower Basin Floor Fan with the aim of proving producible oil at this downdip location.
Remember this is what they said about the Kuparuk:
"The highly encouraging results in the Kuparuk formation, which were better than expected, have warranted a change of plans to test the Kuparuk more thoroughly. Necessarily, this has added additional complexity and time to testing of this formation and has resulted in a delay to the planned testing timetable. The Kuparuk formation is an important target on the Alaska North Slope because of its large scale and enormous regional productive capability. In order to carry out a more detailed testing operation it was decided to set a 4 ½ inch liner across the Kuparuk instead of the original plan to test in the open hole."
Also don't forget we have multiple targets - each of which could be company makers.
"As previously announced, the Talitha #A well reached target depth at 10,452 ft; was logged, sidewall cored, and encountered oil in all four targeted horizons. Preliminary analysis for all of these zones at this location was very encouraging, particularly for the Shelf Margin Deltaic ("SMD"), Basin Floor Fan and Kuparuk horizons. Flow testing each of these zones sequentially from deepest to shallowest, prior to the end of the drilling season is the goal."
Also remember who is on the team, not just Pantheon and Great Bear - we have the eSeis team who found the Alpine field. They know the Geology.
I found today's update massively encouraging, and EVEN if the Kuparuk doesn't flow, it ain't over yet.
