i totally agree with you. it’s obviously easy to suggest, in commentary, “these idiots don’t know ‘nuffin’ - get them out!” and i think we all know that rhetoric isn’t good for anything, but there comes a time when you have to look at who is in ‘power’.

we need educated business leaders in power right now - obviously none will take the job as it’s such low pay in comparison to a plc ceo package but it’s required as a matter of urgency.

we have a choice between dip**** sunak who thinks ‘rolling up sleeves’ is a good marketing image and the gammon that is starmer who can’t make a decision even if it presents an obvious in his gammon face.

we’re fudged either way.

i’m of the age (reaching 50 next year) when billy connolly’s jokes actually make perfect sense:

1) the desire to be a politician should bar you for life for ever becoming one

and

2) don’t vote - it just encourages them.

common sense is well and truly offset when decent business decisions need to be made. and it seems it will always be that way.

I equate that to about a 5.5% compound per month from here.
