RE: Rats Leaving the Ship26 Apr 2026 17:20
I ran few scans on gemini and managed to dig out few facts.
Brendan Buckley was the co-founded back when it was Open Orphan in 2017. As a co-founder, he would have received the bulk of his shares at nominal value (typically 0.1p per share). For his roughly 4 million total shares, this means his initial spend was almost nothing—just a few thousand pounds. He did make one notable buy at the highs. On July 14, 2021, he purchased 188,679 shares at 26.5p per share. This cost him roughly £50k.
So based on the last Friday RNS, he sold 2,017,000 shares at 8.65p for a total of £174,470.
188,679 shares (purchased at 26.5p) = £50,000 spend.
1,828,321 shares (founder shares at ~0.1p) = £1,828 spend.
Total Estimated Spend: ~£51,828.
He spent roughly £51,800 on those shares and sold them for just over £174K walking away with a profit of approximately £122K.
Director sells are always so demoralizing for us retail investors. While we are struggling to recoup our losses on a stock that crashed, the Director who helped steer the ship into this mess is walking away with a £122,000 profit simply because his entry price was effectively zero.
He isn't standing his ground or fighting for the recovery. He is taking a massive six-figure profit while the going is good (even if 8.65p seems low to us, it's 86x Brckley's price). Let's see if MO steps up next week and buy some shares in the open market to counter Buckley's sells.
