Tbh almost all of my stuff is in ISAs (at least the part through HL) but I have a rather diverse portfolio, most of which is ETFs/ETCs and some companies (EUA and some others.) but I can see how the platform wouldn't work for other people's purposes.

HL has around 8000 securities in ISAs to trade, Freetrade is around 1500ish. (Just saying...if the only aim is to EUA then it's irrelevant but otherwise it offers a decent variety of mineral ETCs and whatnots that not too many others do.)

Look at the bright side of it, if the EUA sale completes before the next clusterf...k turmoil around November you can put a bit of that income into VILX....:) -- that's my idea anyway.

HL is decent if you don't mind that their app can throw rather stupid numbers at you (like total daily gains showing odd numbers on the occasion, doesn't affect reality but can be confusing) and generally being dead slow on monday mornings.

That'd be nice but unless the assumption is that AML would be sold I don't really see the link between the two given they operate in significantly different sectors and AML might or might not have the numbers behind them. Heck they've gone bankrupt 7x over the past many years so...

Not sure I'd buy individual banks much nowadays. Maybe ETFs or even leveraged ones (3BAL etc. in smaller quantities) but that's kindof it. Banks' SPs have suffered a lot over the past months and years, so while theoretically could go up high if you look at the ones like RBS it's 90%+ down over a decade, never recovered, eventually merged into another one.

Vaguely offtopic but if there are AML ads that's good, at least they're in the position to spend now. I have a fair bit of AML so yeyy for that. :D

If you're on Chrome/Firefix may I suggest Ublock Origin as well as CookieAutoDelete though you'll have to config it and add a few to the whitelist else you'll be logged out from everywhere all the time (plus by default CAD is off/manual, need to change it.).

Makes sense, as much as a lot of people have a lot of patience, generally the financial value is only relevant when actually cashing out. Plus if the overall market was to go south like it did earlier in the year (or more), values of investments in various companies will push ppl to cash out here and there.
I bought the initial shares sometime before the suspension and then topped out a few times afterwards so not been around as long as many others.
So what's the next EUA after EUA? :)

Hi everyone,

New to posting here but been following more or less the ongoing conversation for a longer while now (and before someone asks yes I have shares, cca £20k ish.) -- question: there is a fair bit of chat about the long term (say 5 yrs) possible share prices subject to a lot of things but say for practicality's sake the prediction is that in 5 yrs SP would be £3. My understanding is however that if the sale was to complete sooner (as in now-ish, or anyway in the coming year) then shareholders would get a full cash compensation at the sale price (certainly less than £3 ea) and then "that's it", right? (not right?) -- so one wouldn't get to see the £3 SP in 5 years because the company wouldn't be public at the time (?).
