DA shall, more than likely, already be working closely with the board, evenings and weekends. DA shall know the score, he's not coming in wearing a blind fold. Although unfortunate, Today's news is a storm in a teacup and I reckon that the board were expecting this, fortunately they have been quick to announce the rescheduled date, so sounds like they had a plan B.

Perhaps the plan is for DA to deliver the Q3 trading update and outlook, which shall be possible on the new date. DA to hit the ground running having had many weeks to prepare.

Hopefully GM shall have one last parting shot....and that shall be an R&D update, but the trading update and outlook shall be from DA.

Clearly stock includes Q machines purchased from ITIS, after all the DHSC contract was with Primerdesign and not ITIS.

That's a difficult question, we know that Q machines have been offered for free as part of a promotion and I'd imagine that machines have also been offered at a discount.

Should be doing pooled PCR within schools, class of 30 could be screened from 3 tests. An entire school screened once a week.

Today's cash balance, nearly 3 months on, is likely to be well North of £80 million.

Although the 'intention' is to change from PCR to LFT, I guess some members of the public may still decide upon a PCR, especially those that require additional reassurance and the addition cost is not an issue.

Spot on Bluelight.....that's my thinking, confidence being a far bigger issue than the price of testing!

Denis Kinane said that he "welcomes" plans to simplify the travel restrictions, particularly the Government's system of traffic light destinations.

However, he warned that the decision to drop "gold-standard PCR tests" in favour of lateral flow tests "will be a calculated risk that could put Britain at risk of new Covid variants entering the country."

He added: "Currently, Cignpost's own data shows 4 in every 1,000 people are testing positive after they arrive in the UK, and every one of them had already supposedly recorded a negative lateral flow test while abroad.

"That is the equivalent of 400 people entering the UK with Covid every single day.

"Without PCR testing, we are in danger of reducing our ability to sequence positive tests for variants of concern, making us blind to new threats or changes in the virus."

This comes amid a warning from a genomics expert that relaxing the travel rules "doesn’t sit with the rest of how we implement Covid control measures in the country".

Alan McNally, professor of genomics at the University of Birmingham, warned that "we really don’t have any policies in place now in the United Kingdom to sufficiently prevent Covid transmission."

He said it is "vitally important that we do genome-level surveillance on travel Covid cases" and that we can end up in "big trouble" for not monitoring travel-related cases

This is most certainly not the end of PCR testing for travel, it is likely that only double jabbed returning UK holiday makers shall be exempt from the PCR test for specific destinations. Foreign nationals visiting the UK from around the world shall still be required to complete a PCR test. Also, other nations require a PCR test for entry and the cruise ship industry is very unlikely to drop the requirement for PCR testing.

I work within aviation and am aware of many bucket and spade destinations where the flights are operating with less than 30% load factors. I don't for one minute think that Today's changes to rules shall have a massive positive impact upon load factors, there are too many other issues, confidence being the largest.

Incoming PCR testing has not been scrapped, complete speculation at present!

Ministers also plan to replace expensive PCR tests, which travellers have to take on day two of their arrival in the UK, with cheaper lateral flow tests, although there are fears this proposal could be derailed by last-minute objections by health chiefs.

Industry sources have said the the plans are expected to be finalised Thursday and Friday to ensure the changes are in place in time for the autumn half-term break at the end of October.

Little wonder that the price for PCR remains relatively high, the test providers attempting to run a business, however the day to day threat of another Government u-turn. If only the Government would commit to PCR testing for the purposes of travel to Sept 2023, seems sensible, after all we are in the middle of a Global pandemic.

It's not Rocket science. Primerdesign is not a provider, it is a manufacturer. Members of the general public can't purchase retail tests from Primerdesign, we supply the providers!!
