Everyone will have different views on who or what they wanted for the UK election. Frankly I'm not wedded to left or right but prefer things to be roughly in the middle and neither of the main parties are there meantime.
Regardless, I do believe the Tory win is good for Rockhopper so I am consoling myself with the thought that, even though I could not get behind either party, the one that won is most likely to not stand in the way of this project.
As a further thought I was also wondering if UKEF have also been waiting to see the outcome of the election to see if the new government would change any policies. I would not have thought they would be the type of people to rock the boat by announcing anything in the couple of months before an election.

Maybe. No idea of what PMO are going to say, it may be awful but it may be nothing or it may be positive news on Zama sale.

I get that. Your not the first, I've read various iterations of the same sort of emails from folks who've lost huge amounts of money over the years on this stock. The "story" and fundamentals are there it's just been an eye wateringly slow execution that's really washed out the support for the stock.

Auson, yes, I noticed one of our co-posters has posted 70 times, exclusively on the RKH forum, the other day. It's all rather obvious tbh.

As regards RKH stock, it's a bit of a classic unloved share really. Everything that needs to happen is happening but over the last few years it's been at glacial speed for the reasons identified and chewed over on here ad nauseum.
Looking forward it's possible, I think highly possible, that the price will increase. I also believe that once that starts it will change rapidly.
Obviously there are risks but I believe, contrary to doomsters, all the boxes are in place to make this move rapidly forward once the financial planets of RKH and, more importantly, PMO align post Zama sale.

The kind of stock that is battered by an extended timeline, a stock that has fallen year on year for 4-5 years, a stock that is so unloved any news is skewed to be bad news, a stock that is literally a laughing stock.

You, like a lot of us are nut deep in this. But I'd switch off the internet, go for a walk, and see where we are in 3-6 months...

I've been a shareholder at RKH for many years, slowly building a position in a firm I believe may increase in value. As in life and all investments there are no guarantees but I am also someone who has worked in O&G for 20+ years and have a MSc etc so have my eyes open as regards the pitfalls. I only mention my background as an indication of having some knowledge, not infinite wisdom, as regards the industry and some of the wider business implications.
Like a few folks I've been on this forum since III changed it's format and as on there I could not understand why some folks were continually posting and talking over others who obviously had some interesting things to share. Unsubstantiated claims based on nothing tangible. We all know this, we see it every day.
Then I clicked and read up the link Nigoil posted (below) and then looked at the track record of some of these regular posters. Some are posting at a rate of more than 1 to 1.5 posts a day to ONLY Rockhopper forum chat. If someone is truly a trader and doing shares as a job they presumably own more than one company's shares...?
Anyway. It was an interesting excercise and I recommend it to anyone reading here regularly and wondering why some people posting on here write like they have knowledge beyond any facts.

So, at the end of last week we have another solid step forward and can now start to see a path to FID...and....we get a 2p rise and then it drops again...jeez.
Ah well, more time to gather more I guess..!!

The good news for today isn't RKH news but PMO have confirmed they are selling their field Zuma which means that PMO finances are sorted and that they are more likely to be able to go ahead with developing Sealion.
Amongst other small but significant moves this year another positive event.

Not surprised, whatever is going to happen with this share should be resolved in the next year.

A lot of folks send to say on here that the value of RKH is the current share price plus a minimal % increase regardless that the value of SL is pretty much deemed negliable. If the project is going to go ahead I can't see why this value would not be translated into a share increase.

Did the same the other day...this oil will come out of the ground some day, any real positive news in the past has shown this share to be wound as tight as a drum, the only downside is that the patience required is extreme.

Been waiting for it to trickle under 0.21 for a bit.

I guess most folks maybe don't trust credit agencies like they used to but I doubt there is any safer bet (with also an inherent political backing) than having a government underwriting your loan. It's also the same for us investors. If there any cracks or gaps in the finances of the project then they'll flag it up.

I'd never heard of UKEF so did some reading. Given the UK company involvement and that the Falklands is not an unstable or unsafe place I can't see what their problem would be? I also can't imagine any political issue standing in the way. Can you imagine Liam Fox wanting to answer questions as to why his dept had not signed off support for this development to start? Hundreds, if not thousands, of jobs etc etc. Its a process I hadn't heard of but I think that their support will make lending rates significantly cheaper than without it

Thanks Nigoil, good to get feedback. I'm a long term holder and happy to be involved but a significant delay or cancellation would hurt a bit (a lot!). Not expecting miracles but a conclusion to this wait at some point would be good.
