Newcrest's stake in Havieron valued at $2,950m as per Scotiabank broker note Feb 16th. Since which we have had further exceptional drill results as per the latest Newcrest exploration update. I wonder what value this will be increased to after the additional 65km of drilling has been completed!

It is incredible how much weighting people placed on a miss across 3 holes at Scally, yet seem to ignore the 26 out of 26 recent drills at Hav!

Will be interesting to see how much of the proposed 65km of drilling we see in the next set of results released. Newcrest released their exploration guidance update on 10th March last year so shouldn't have to wait too much longer. Hopefully will align with Sandeep's comment that they are finding gold in every drill!

On the Newcrest website the September quarterly results are now stated to be released on the 28th. I think it was the 29th previously? Assuming we will now see the results late this evening.

Lots of rumours in the market that Greatland are preparing to make an offer to buy Newcrest. Could that be the reason for the rise?

Munchbox I would be inclined to agree if GGP was a business valued on a price / earnings metric. Given it is not however and the valuation is derived based on the assets which GGP have, and therefore the potential of any future buy out etc, I can only conclude that your grasp of corporate finance and general business valuation is non existent.

New role listed (and tweeted by Newcrest yesterday) for a Mining Superintendent & Alternate UG Manager.

"You will play a key role in establishing the Havieron Project for underground mine development from the later stages of the box-cut construction through to the commencement of the exploration decline.

You’ll assist in the development of an underground mining team capable of leading the next stages of mining at Havieron and show demonstrated experience managing underground contractors as well as all aspects of an underground mine."

Just to confirm, based on Bloomberg data today, HBOS Investment Fund Managers = Halifax Share Dealing Service, likewise Capital Accumulation = Interactive Investor, and have a respective holding of 8.71% and 7.53% respectively.
So both are essentially PI's in the same way as HL is.
