It would be difficult for another major to pay the same price as NCM given they would not have the existing infrastructure in place, so their profit / returns would be lower, hence lower price payable to generate same IRR. NCM would also have to accept a bid for the 70% so not really a relevant point.

Not sure how people can be calling NCM disingenuous, people clearly don’t understand the purpose of financial results. It is people on this board who were saying that the MRE2 would be released at the same time, not NCM. Maybe people stop hanging onto others every words off this board and then expectations won’t run ahead.
This is just a game of patience, the fundamentals are extremely compelling and true value will come.

Potentially yes, but it was on the expectation that news was imminent which we have just been told it isn't. I'd rather not have the typical pump and dump, but just a share price which reflects reality.

I don't think it was bad at all. It just reconfirmed that we should expect to hear some news. It was a holding RNS of sorts, otherwise people begin to panic why they haven't heard anything.

My take from it is that the lithium project is progressing just fine. Yes timelines have slipped slightly, but news (and positive news at that) is still due. We are also in an environment where demand and therefore price of lithium is growing, which feeds directly into our bottom line and economics achieved in any potential deal.

Such an over reaction in the share price this morning. Nothing has changed, the fundamentals are still overwhelmingly positive and we continue to await an updated feasibility study which will include a) higher resource price, b) larger resource area, c) more resource included given now economically viable.
We are undervalued based on the previous FS, let alone once the revised report is released.

Would hardly call it a pump and dump given their resource size, the price of resource and the fact they are awaiting an updated feasibility study.

Alex Borelli is also pulling a bit of a fast one here considering he hung onto his position by the skin of his teeth with a 50.9% vote in favour of his reappointment!

Not strictly true Zoros. The amount "over and above" market expectations for the 5% will be added to the market cap, not the full amount given some of it will already be priced in.

That is categorically incorrect. That is like saying a manufacturer is valued purely on the current inventory they hold rather than the potential of any future growth and sales. I agree it won't capture potential resource upgrades in say 3 years time, but it most definitely will capture more than the last resource estimate.

If as people believe (I do not include myself in this) Newcrest are via JPM shorting GGP stock to keep the price down, why would they even try buy the 5% which will most likely cause the share price to re-rate. Why would they not just refuse the option, which in turn would drop the SP even further, and then offer to buy 100% of GGP. People need to stop spouting unsubstantiated claims which people then latch onto and fixate upon.

A holding of 3% or more would require a TR-1 notification.

If they owned >30%, they would be required under the takeover code to put in a mandatory bid, aka a mandatory offer, for all of GGP's outstanding shares.
