Quite a few blocks of sells in the 40k - 90k range this morning. Wonder if thats BASF or if they use algos like most other traders?

Trying to be objective, at start of business the market knows there will be 350k of sales that need to be mopped up in the buyback, plus another 50% from BASF.....that alone is enough to snuff out any positive bias each morning

Harbor can then mop up the shares at their leisure at what they see as a better price

Any chance they are dealing with a warrant share overhang u reckon?

Would say its to do with the US opening, which in turn feeds off economic news released earlier. Its been going on for ages

Well the 23rd is still over two weeks away, and with these round number sells hitting the market, there seems to be little positive anticipation of whats to come. I honestly never dreamed we would be in this position following the end of tox trials

You may be right Bogyo, I am well aware that bigger orders will get split up, or excuted in small chunks by algos. The point I was trying to make was that these were identical larger trades timed to the exact second.

Look at trades around 14:10 and earlier in the day. I mentioned because these were unusual to see in SEE trading. Could be nothing, but was v unusual thats all

Looking down the trades list, and in particular the AT trades in the sell column, there does possibly look like a lot of duplication. Many trades have exactly the same trade volume and trade time (to the very second). I know trading systems are fast but this is very unusual for SEE

Well they certainly knew the world and his dog is waiting on a tox study update, so to release an interview (albeit on a new subject) that completely ignores it, was ill advised. Rightly or wrongly people will now speculate as to why

I think it will be a major misjudgement if they leave an update until the end of this month. Investors are already getting twitchy

The thing is there hasnt really been the volume of selling to justify a 2p drop - 1p max. Perhaps theres some trades still to show up? Maybe MMs sh it the bed a little when they saw selling today, or perhaps more likely, MMs are just stoking up fear to get a stock of shares before news.

I honestly dont know any more. Its all very well saying trust science, but we dont seem to have management that can exploit the science for shareholder benefit. Hopefully im 100% wrong

I wont comment on performance as I think my views are in the minority. Discount of share price to vwap paid widened to circa 15p, average daily spend rose by £12.5k on the week. We passed the one third mark during the week, and the projected buyback duration continues to shorten

Based on $100m = £74m, buyback is projected to last 114 trading days / 74 days remaining

Also.....the taxation charge on the accounts is what is *payable* not paid. There will be an ongoing creditor in the accounts either in current or non-current creditors for what remains outstanding

In the case of deferred taxtionm, this case be an asset or liability some of which may be very long term

You have to remember that all companies pay Corporation Tax on an adjusted profit not the profit before tax shown on their accounts. This is because some expenses such as depreciation and amortisation can be treated very differently by companies as opposed to say HMRC or other tax authorities

In the case of oil companies there is a whole plethora of adjustments that would need to be made re D&A and say exploartion costs before an EPL calculation can be made. The fact that the 78% is charged on a higher starting profit could certainly account for the seemingly ridiculous headline tax rate, together with provisions for future deferred taxation which must be made by law and signed off by auditors

Buried in the Notes to the Accounts there will be a reconciliation of the tax charge and what adjustments have been made before it is calculated.....i will look it up tomorrow - too knackered atm :)

I was advised on here to wait until mid-month to see if interest started building, and I guess thats fair enough. However, I do think that the interview has muddied the waters un-necessarily. Some sort of 'everything is on track with our compounds' statement would have clarified matters and stopped the adverse speculation.

Its not a question of whinging per se, but it doesnt take much selling to get this drifting back down again, and we dont want that until month end surely?
