Could be that VanV, ShaunP and Crl123 are making a return?

In yesterday's Times, they stated that 'People must be tested for flu in the same way as they are for Covid-19 if the NHS is to weather a 'triple whammy', of infections this winter, according to a government commissioned report. Senior doctors have said that the health services faces another extremely difficult winter as it tries to cope with the coronavirua, a resurgences of other respitory infections and a backlog of care . The report led by the Academy of Medical Sciences, predicts that influenza, cited in about 20000 deaths a year, and RSV, which puts about 20000 children in hospital in a normal year could bounce back at TWICE the level of being suppressed by the lockdown. This to me, a mere layman, suggests that NCYT testing is going to rocket and am I correct in saying that Nova can differentiate between Covid and Flu and are we the only concern currently able to achieve this -- if so , the mind boggles as the symptoms are often very similar so one can see the importance!

It would not surprise me if the bulk of Nova's PCR tests are being used abroad. At least they are likely to pay their bills!

I agree wholeheartedly Kaeren. The current Test and Trace system remains a major weakness in the fight against the pandemic. For the life of me I cannot understand why the media remain comparatively relaxed on this issue when they have so much ammunition in terms of cheap rubbish tests not to mention the damming FDA report they could use to attack this govt. I have still to see the worth of Nova's communication /media dept. in highlighting the merit of our superior UK produced product. Perhaps they simply do not wish to antagonise matters what with this wretched DHSC issue dragging us down.

One major advantage of our new second generation LFT is to assist the monitoring of the effectiveness of new vaccines which is surely a major plus that governments cannot ignore. Would this almost put it on a par with our Gold standard PCR test and hopefully at a more competitive price? Remember that Graham also expected substantial revenues from this exciting new development! I wonder if he will use this as some sort of trade off with regards to a DHSC settlement and that this is possibly a reason why we are still awaiting news on this front? Wishful thinking on my part perhaps.

... Nova's home LFT will be available by the 19th. Think GM said a few weeks at AGM. We need maximum publicity on this new (I think) speedy saliva test which should be far more appealing for children and the general public to use. Let's get it implemented before school return and the usual winter ailments

What has happened to Jack Taylor's much anticipated video which he said was due soon but that was a month or so ago! I suggest it be titled 'The Long Wait' - a sequel perhaps to the original 1954 movie starring Anthony Quinn involving an amnesiac. Doubt most here were around then apart from that other old codger Ventura1.

@troublesome. I accept that some shareholders are still sitting pretty but many are not and in deep water. All I was trying to glean from this BB is how long this matter could linger so we can brace ourselves for a continued stagnation re SP as it is difficult to see what could turn things around. Surely we all have an interest in this. I do not post often and your choice of words is unlikely to encourage those who may still have to voice an opinion. Something to think about perhaps? Thanks Larry. That's somewhat depressing if we follow suite. If say Nova are 2 months down the road, that could mean end of year re settlement. I doubt GM will give us any hint re how the case is progressing so patience may well be the name of the game. Let's hope we hear much sooner.

@troublesome. What a rude reply to a perfectly civil question! Why on earth should I seek professional help? If anyone needs help may I politely suggest it's you with your incredible amount of at times banal postings -- 8430 to date -- don't you have a life outside this BB? I am only trying to get an idea how long shareholders like myself may have to wait for a decision after which we can all hopefully rejoice and forget this frustrating impasse . Hopefully I will get a sensible civil reply.

I am no expert so it would be useful for people more qualified to give an opinion as to how long our dispute with the DHSC could take. As a rule of thumb it would appear that It usually takes several months for parties to do the necessary discovery and other work to prepare for an arbitration. The hearing itself will last anywhere from one day to a week or more. One can usually expect to hear the arbitrator's decision within 45 days of the arbitrator closing the proceedings. However, this timescale is usually set by agreement between Nova, the DHSC (the other party) and the arbitrator. Given these rough guidelines it would appear shareholders may have to wait as long as 4 months to be put out of their misery. I suspect GM will be pushing hard to resolve this matter quickly to progress the business so, for the sake of argument. let's say 3 months. Could anyone venture a date when this procedure is likely to have commenced?

I am by temperament very patient and appreciate/hope this company's considerable potential is realised for the benefit of mankind which is one of the reasons I invested in the first place. I understand the reticence of new investors and a little of the unhelpful shenanigans behind the scenes. Some serious far more able investors than I on this forum have stated they have never come across the irregularities of an AIM share like NCYT and are seriously under water. The story may have only just started but I am a little wary of whether it will get beyond the first few chapters and given the present climate a TO must remain a real possibility IMHO. Many, where time is not exactly on their side, will breathe a sigh of relief I suspect at the chance of breaking even or making a profit. The good news is that England are through to the next round so watch the market soar tomorrow!

@RBMInvest. I sincerely hope you are right and only time will tell when a settlement (hopefully) is announced. If this still fails to change the market's mood, what next one asks and I think we shouldn't ignore this scenario however illogical it may appear as logic these past few months bears no reality. Many investors far more experienced and wiser than me have been completely wrong footed of late so nothing relating to this share will now surprise me.

This is not meant to depress the forum further on today's crazy SP drop but let's speculate for a minute (BTW I loved Hollywoodsummer's post). Just for the sake of argument, what if a fair DHSC settlement STILL fails to make an impression on the SP? I suspect some will throw themselves off the cliff edge in exasperation. I will likely be in kamakaze mood. Would NCYT then seriously be a TO target? Most here are using the DHSC as the main excuse for the market's disillusionment but once this dispute is over, we appear fair game. Moi? I am just hoping an England win tonight will lift the nation and in the process be a turning point for Nova.

... the home saliva test in itself is headline media news and of great interest to the general public? I do hope NCYT's communications dept. are shouting this from the rooftops - there is precious little sign yet. Hopefully news will filter through later today.
