... Nova's next acquisition to widen its already considerable strength in the diagnostic field. I sense this is not too far away and would attract IIs. I imagine the company are working frantically to meet demand for PCRs.... all hands to the pump and who can blame them with revenue pouring in by the millions. I think 2022 could be Nova's BIG year on various exciting fronts so am quite happy to sit this turbulence out.
I suspect that this new variant will tie with if not exceeed coverage of the tragic refugee deaths over the weekend. Given DA's background, you can bet your bottom dollar that he will be presssing all the right buttons to promote Nova's unique advantages on the variant front. Given the inevitable increase in cases I think that next week could well surpass this week's % rise although the SP may take several knocks along the way. I am holdding for sure !
The problem is that any official investigation could take years before the public are fully informed of all the skullduggery by which time the culprits are likely to have moved on. I just wish Sir Keir would be more aggressive in his attack as there will never be a better time to roast this sleazy govt. Doubtless by the time all is revealed, most will have lost interest and the culprits will have salted away their ill gotten gains and Boris will be on his £1000000 a pop World talking tour .
I wonder if the delay in DHSC settlement is the reason why there appears to be no movement on an acquisition. It is perhaps wishful thinking on my part that DA is maintaining a silence knowing a settlement is likely before Christmas.
Gazman - Perhaps a better analogy would be Burnley FC and Nova. I am a long term supporter of the Clarets who are currently languishing in the bottom three and have sedom been out since the season started. However, we have picked up a few points recently plus an away draw against Chelsea so the omens are good. I have a sneaky feeling team Nova may just scrape home a win against the DHSC before Christmas which will certainly get the adrenilin flowing with a series of wins next year!
... DA will surface before Christmas with seasonal greetings or better still some routepath to the future or even an acquisition! He has now been a month in the job so one would hope he surfaces before Christmas at least but I guess he is hoping for some tidings of great joy to emerge!
I like this commnet! 'Speaking to Express.co.uk CEO of HUI Aleksandra Binkowska said: "I think the impact is extraordinary.
"If our system takes 40 tonnes of plastic per day, in Poland we have 10 systems lined up, you multiply it by 10 its 400 tonnes of waste plastic per day.
"We can clean up not only Europe but the rest of the world."
... warrant another mention in The Lancet? Some selling this morning as expected but who would want to be out over the weekend by which time this encouraging news will undoubtedly be circulating over the Media!
I like this bit - 'I look forward to updating you early in 2022 on the topline results. In the meantime, I encourage everyone to follow, like and share our official news posts on LinkedIn and Twitter (@synairgenplc) with your friends and contacts.'
Dear colleagues, partners, and friends,
I am excited to share the news with you that we have hit our recruitment target of 610 patients randomised in our Phase 3 SPRINTER trial for hospitalised patients with COVID-19. You can read the press release here.
This is an important milestone for Synairgen, and a step closer to a potential new and effective treatment for those hospitalised with COVID-19, bringing new hope for recovery.
It reinforces that the timing of our top line results data readout due in early 2022 remains on track. And timing matters. With thousands of people a day in the US alone requiring hospitalisation, more treatment options are urgently needed, and we are proud to be contributing to this fight and delighted to be within sight of the finish line for the SPRINTER trial.
It also marks the end of an extraordinary period for the Synairgen clinical team led by Jody Brookes and the many partners we have been working with during this time. Thank you to the Synairgen clinical team, the trial sites and investigators, as well as our partners at Paraxel Bio, Data Magik, Transcrip, Aerogen and Veramed who have all worked as part of our team to bring this trial one step closer to conclusion. You can view a short video from Jody here.
Finally, and importantly, I would like to say a huge thank you the nurses, doctors, and especially the patients who volunteered to be part of this trial. Without them, this wouldn’t have been possible.
I look forward to updating you early in 2022 on the topline results. In the meantime, I encourage everyone to follow, like and share our official news posts on LinkedIn and Twitter (@synairgenplc) with your friends and contacts.
With thanks,
Richard

Many people also forget that we are just entering our long winter period which will undoubtedly result in the usual deluge of respitatory ilnesses most likely in England with an almost complete relaxation of masks. I cannot understand why we do not follow Scotland and Wales with this simple but effective precaution!
