Forgot to call out, of course the reason for SP to move higher is those chasing a div will keep piling into the share when they search for stocks yeilding some income

£2.73 low a good price for those who bought in yesterday. It will still be the case around these levels. This could motor on quickly now into the mid 300s. The thing is looney has his hands tied. The goverments of the world will hit BP with huge fees/fines per tonne ot dirty carbon produced if they dont do anything. Then you got the major funds that wont invest if BP does not play ball. Thirdly governements create the eco financial energy frameworks for all the majors to adhere to, if they dont play ball then no slice of the pie. So not really Gretas fault nor looney's. This simply managing investor stakeholder relations and keeping the investment money coming in for the long term transition away from fossil fuels.

Looks like some punters are filling their boots now driving the SP higher...reckon a small punt today too..!

Hmmm not so sure about this! The range could change entirely when the new strategy update is provided by Looney and his henchmen in early September. Also tmrw could boom on the better than expected non dividend cut announcement thereby setting up a dream long trade up till September! Probably wont pan out like that but here's hoping!!

The market will be looking for tentative signs of an improvement in advertising....even a whiff of optimism should drive this much higher...fear prevails for !!

The markets have been going down last few sessions. This tracks the ftse 250. Tmrw this should rise and close 50 to 51p easily.

the 9am was an earnings announcement, there was talk of a separate presentation for investors...it was referenced in some article last friday...will try to find...

I think this a good thing, letting the US go as that will allow management to focus on UK and Ireland. This is where most businesses start failing when they tackle too many markets...think Tesco and RBS retrenchment...also Capita and others...is there a management presentation this afternoon?? The strategy update is the main event investors are waiting on today??

I think this is not one of those cases where a SP goes up then down, as this transaction impacts the balance sheet so tangible, I would say a re rating is on the table as SP was lower due to balance sheet stress. Think if this was an UP day in the market we could have been looking at 55p - 60p range...

Brent broken through $43/barrel, BP still languishing. Can only mean one thing. Market is awaiting that 4th Aug trading update and div announcement. That's when the big movement in SP is going to happen. Up or down anyone's guess.

markets absolutely dig job cuts news as it improves the bottom line and shows management in a good light, i.e. managing costs...so expect an rise into the 80s tomorrow...gone are the 60's at least...there could be some lingering 70's SP nostalgia but reckon heading for the 80s and noughties...??? :-)

Wannabe retail analysts here lol rather than compare with a 2.5k designer dress the focus should be contrasting against retailers who sell at the £15 to £20 price point. That is H&M, Zara, Topshop and countless other retailers so boohoos model is compromised should clothes start getting this expensive. The boohoo clothes need to sell cheap and at volume hence the try and fail fast approach in terms of seeing what sells well.

The uptrend was clearly broken..in the near term, this will keep testing 2.20, 2.00 and possibly 1.80p ...any rapid movements upwards will quickly lead to retracements like this morning as there needs to be serious postive newsflow to validate previous fundamentals before this labour scandal broke...

I cant see how this will be trading higher than ASOS %terms today. Dead cat bounce. More bad press time coming into weekend.

Anyone think this will go backup to 3.21 today/tmrw or back down from 3.12 level??? Bit of resistance at 3.12
