Today's monarchs get a cut of the profits, if we did away with the monarchy the land would still be owned by the government . And all the profit would go into the public purse, steal land then hand some of it back and become the good guys. The royals still own plenty of land in their own names and homes.

Not many of the landed gentry could provide receipts for the land, that their ancestors acquired.

I have not really followed the problem with the motor finance .

But motor dealers would be considered agents of the bank, as such the bank could be deemed responsible for its agents actions or in actions . I have had personal dealings with agents and their supposedly fiduciary duties, and that went to the high courts. You employ an agent and you are responsible for them.
