As a side story , a certain little girl call, Severn Cullis -Suzuki, from Canada, gave a speech at the 1992 UN conference on the environment she was aged 12yrs. Her speech was the pre cursor for chancer from Sweden. She started her speech by saying how the older generation was destroying her future blah blah. She is now aged 41, her future turned out very well. She has a tv show, gives lectures and writes books. She has not been drowned by rising waters, blown away by a hurricane or starved to death. The EU says its exports to the UK are down 20% so we get EU figures when it suits and national figures when it suits.
Rather like when the EU (Germany ) invited the third world to go their. Now nations within the EU are building barriers to keep the third world out. So is it the EU or the members states we get confused.

Correct you can sell at anytime and reinvest, but there is no promise you will make up the deficit.

Like their entry in to PPI £ 20 odd billion down the drain, did board members disembowel themselves on the carpet in shame? And as you say no one could force a private company in peacetime to do anything, it would be illegal.

I have never mentioned LLoyds take over of HBOS!
But the PPI scandal was all of their own making, they paid out more than any other bank £20 odd billion. Did they not take good legal advice on any possible come backs?, if they did it was not vey good.

Correct we can move any time, but it would have helped if this board had not caused the bank to lose tens of billions over the last decade or so. Some are waiting to break even to just that move on.

From 1997 when Blairs government opened our borders house price inflation across all sectors at a 45 degree angle on the graph (Nationwide's graph). All borrowed money as to be paid off, I will look forwards to seeing if the Bank sells corporate bonds and at what coupon. We also pay plumbers to get it right and I would say they get it right more often than this banks board.

The wealthy in the USA don't pay much tax and never have, never will , why even Musk is leaving for Texas for the lower tax regime.
The so called infrastructure bill only provides a small percentage for the roads and bridges etc, they have even put welfare payments, free universities places free meals etc etc into the so called infrastructure bill.

I agree with what you say, but I do remember the housing market in the USA being very buoyant pre 2008 !
What could go wrong they thought, but perhaps like with us and the recent opening of the borders allowing they up to 2 million extra immigrants in per year is providing the momentum in the rise. All those people walking across from Mexico will need some where to live. But is it sustainable ?. And if the next president is say Trump it could come to a sudden end, but who knows.

I saw a programme from Australia a couple of months back, it appears the SMRs would be ideal for that country . So let s hope they fully see the benefits of going down this route.

On treats/contracts with regard say the fishing it was agreed that French boats that could prove an history of fishing in UK waters would get permits. It now comes to light that many can't prove their so grandfather rigthts to fish in our waters, they must of turned off their transponders so they could not be tracked. So if they were fishing they were doing it illegally .
And the EU have made no secret of their wish to Punish the UK. You say our exports to the EU are done 80% so where are the bob loses? And the EU sold us a damned lot more than we sold them in the first place so what is the value of the EU of that lost 20% and which EU countries are affected the most.
