We were awarded a $6.8m multi year contract under the DARPA Ingots Program, which DARPA itself says is aiming to deliver the Gold Standard in cybersecurity. From what I can see only 5 companies got awards.

Leidos - $8.8m award. $17bn mkt cap. 48,000 staff globally.

RTX BBN - $10.3m award. Wholly owned by RTX Corporation, valued at $100bn, and one of the world’s leading aerospace and defence companies.

TwoSix Labs - $18.6m award. Wholly owned subsid of the Carlyle Group, worth $17bn.

Kudu Dynamics - $7.1m award. Privately owned so little info. 112 staff on LinkedIn.

And then little old Narf, with 18 staff (according to last accounts) and a sub £10m MCAP.

Interesting isn't it. The market is awash with companies looking to use AI, and governments are spending to back it. Globally.

Plenty of developers out there that can produce the software, but Narf estimate only 0.1% of those developers have the skills to protect it.

What is the point of have a wizz bang AI solution, upon which your whole value is based, if you leave it unprotected and open to attack. Bang goes your business.

Well, for much of the morning I’ve been offered a higher price to sell more volume. No expert, but wouldn’t that suggest the MM’s want the stock?

Equally, I would have thought that if commercial enterprises want to maintain or increase market share, they will increasingly need to show how they are protecting customers against attack. It will become a key selling point.

True.

Point is, as the world moves further into the digital age it becomes more reliant on tech. Retail, defence, infrastructure, crypto, banking…the list goes on. So naturally, attacks on the tech will cause greater and greater damage, and so defending the tech assumes greater and greater importance. Equally attacks will become more and more sophisticated, and so will the defence requirements.

We not only have that expertise, but have codified it into AI agents..

Seems to me an extremely valuable offering in times where successful attacks can cause ever increasing damage, and certainly something any number of organisations or governments would pay for to protect against that damage.

On a more general point, things just feel to me like they’re about to turn here. The weird accumulation by SING, the general way the book is trading etc. Means nothing I know but we’ve been absent news for a little while and Yates has a history of letting things drop in Q4. So I’ve trusted my gut and added a few more today. Call me a fool if you like!

Would I be right to say the diamonds belong to Vast Plc, and that consequently unsecured trade creditors (including the Romanian tax authorities) in the Vast Baita insolvency will have no claim on the proceeds?

Its worth looking at the XZ Utils attack that NARF RNS'd about last year, and which clearly resulted in the very swift commercial pivot to Social Cyber and the acceleration of its development. That attack (only caught by accident) was brought about by social engineering, the very thing Social Cyber is intended to defend against (and which NARF quickly demonstrated worked to do so) and, had the attack worked, would have resulted in what was descried at the time as Cybergeddon. It was graded a 10 out of 10 on the risk scale by the powers that be. From everything I have read NARF felt that they had a 2 year head start on competitors, hence the pivot, and the very quick subsequent $1.3m contract to accelerate development/integration into platform 1.

So fundamentally, Social Cyber looks to me to be the pioneering cyber defence against a new brand of social engineering attack which can be devastating if successful.
