Interesting things are the references to gov scale up of rapid testing from April 21 (coinciding the the extra smoke from the ABDX factory), and the period of this DPS - 1yr min, 3 years max.

I think it unlikely, however that any company granted an award could publish that fact before the DHSC. Look at ODX - their contract was awarded by the DHSC on 12/2, yet they only announced it to the market on 15 March, on the day DHSC named them as a recipient.

It closed 6 April. I think DHSC has 30 days to publish contract awards, so they may already have been awarded.

Would explain the massive recruitment drive we are seeing!

So it now looks like they are recruiting to operate at 24/7, pretty much 7 days a week.

Interesting to see the last EUA for a rapid antigen test, granted 16/4.

If I’m reading it correctly then it’s NP swab only, and was approved from a clinical validation between 5-25 Feb using 133 samples, 103 negative and 30 positive, yielding 93.3/99.09 S&S.

In Feb 21, Abingdon recruited Brenda Hogan as their HR Director. She came to them from Cubed Talent Management.

Since March 12, Cubed has listed the following vacancies, all for an LFT manufacturer in Hand Sutton, York (where ABDX are based).

Warehouse operatives (for new warehouse space). Multiple roles

Production/Assembly operatives (weekends). Multiple roles on 24/7 shift pattern.
Manufacturing scheduler
Production lab technician
Head of Quality and Reg Affairs

Primary Production Operative - multiple roles
Software Engineers - multiple roles
Health and Safety coordinator

Some of the listings are still live, whilst others have gone (so I’m assuming they were filled).

Sounds to me like they’re all geared up to make our test!

I’ve lost count now of the number of ads Cubed have placed for this Sand Hutton company in the last month, many for multiple vacancies in the same position, and some of the links I’ve previously posted no longer work (suggesting the jobs have been filled).

For my money, it’s ABDX, and we are definitely making, or expecting to make, lots of something! Could be AVCT, ABC19, or something for another of our numerous partners.

Well, Cubed people (often a number of them) follow and like pretty much all ABDX LinkedIn posts, which suggests they are working with ABDX, and all the recent cubed adverts I’ve highlighted are based in York (YO41, Sand Hutton) with most referring to LFT manufacture or lab manufacturing.

So not 100% sure, but pretty darn close.

ABDX have been recruiting like mad recently in all areas from IT, quality control, production, warehousing, the latest one being for a number of weekend assembly operatives working three shifts covering 24 hours a day. They certainly seem to be making something...!

Cubed have just listed (or potentially re-listed) the advert looking for weekend production/assembly staff.

Key points for me are that they are looking for a "number" of these.
They are working weekends.
They are working over 3 shifts, covering 24 hours a day.

Would be strange to be advertising for these if we weren't making something to order, or were extremely confident of orders.

True, but GAD is contracted to DHSC.

Europe is where the commercial margins will be.

And 100% sensitivity for CT <27, the infectious range.

That’s the nugget!

Just worth noting that our distribution agreement is with Medusa 19 Ltd, but it’s Medusa 19 Healthcare Ltd (set up in November) which the govt has included in the framework agreement.

Not wanting to dampen excitement, but this does just describe a framework agreement, ie a list of companies to which the govt can make specific awards in accordance with the terms of the framework. I don’t think it represents an actual award now to GDR, or any other company on the list.

But at least we are on the list...!
